I'll have to check this on mine, but i just assumed the tank indicator at the outdoor kitchen was tied to the second tank level inside. I'll have to see if these jive the next time we go out.

I've never tried overflowing my outdoor kitchen and dumping from the middle, but that's a good idea.

29.5 bhok

I know it’s a little different rig, but my 2017 29.5BHDS is set up exactly the same, and I have 3 grey tanks- (1) ~32 gallon up front for the bathroom, (1) ~32 gallon midships for the kitchen sink and (1) ~8 gallons behind the axles for the outdoor kitchen that drains through its own dedicated port out back. I rarely hook up to drain that one since it’s a pain and just dump it on the ground at the site or in the yard when we get home.
The small tank does have its own indicator on the forward wall of the outdoor kitchen next to the light switches.

Well here is the answer straight from Jayco about my 2017 29.5 BHOK. I also asked the question about dropping my springs down to the lowest hole in order to level the camper out while towing with our Ram 2500.

Eric,

Thank you for contacting Jayco tech support. To answer your questions you do have 3 gray water tanks. And yes the outdoor sink runs into the small 3rd gray tank. On the more ryde springs we do not recommend any modifications to the unit or as any changes to the unit could void they warranty. I would check with your selling dealer for details about that.

Now this brings up a new question about dropping my springs to the lowest hole on the hangers. Lol I have not heard or read anywhere that this could potentially void the warranty.

After I ordered my 5er I found out about the two suspension holes option. The dealer contacted Jayco to see if i could request them to be in the lower holes. I could but there was going to be a fee of some kind for changing the order and it could effect my delivery date. I just decided I would change it if needed. It arrived in the lower holes without any change to the order, or fee.

You could probably ask Jayco about changing out an old fashioned burnt-out light bulb for another exactly the same, and they would include the "potential void warranty" phrase in there just to cover their butt.

Glad you got a conformation on having 3 tanks.

Crazy, thanks for finding it out from the horse's mouth... I guess i need to figure out where the hell the water comes from if only the rear lever is pulled. Eight gallons doesn't seem like a lot of water, but i haven't overflowed mine yet so it must be enough.

And why would they put the hole there if you're not supposed to use it???

I think somewhere in the brochure there is a disclaimer saying something to the extent of we reserve the right to make minor changes from what is published.
They must make model year changes early in the year. I ordered my jayco in march of 2017, got it in Aug. 2017 and it was a 2018 model year.

I have a 2017 HT29.5 BHOK and is the same as what you described above, with the details being accurate. I do not know the capacity of the outside kitchen tank, which is a stand alone just like stated.

Angry Anyone figure this out?

I have the 29.5BHOK and I have a front black, middle gray and back gray handle. I went to the store where I bought it and saw the same year model on the lot and it had a front gray, middle black, middle gray and back gray! Yes it had one more handle then mine. I've had a problem where my black water was not coming out and my sink started to fill up. It only started to flush when I pulled my back handle. Even after that I realized my back outside kitchen tank is still at 1/3 full and won't drain even with all the handles pulled. All very confusing. Can anyone explain this to me?

Welcome to the forum, but, sadly, I have nothing helpful to offer.

I have front black, front gray (shower and bathroom sink) handle, one gray just after the slide (kitchen), and one gray handle at the back with its own drain (outside kitchen). There are four tanks, one black, two big gray tanks nad one small gray tank for the outside kitchen.

What model year is your 29.5 BHOK? Also don't go by the color of the handle on the valve, or what the label says it is. They can get the wrong color and wrong label during the build.

Thanks Bobby.

The one you say is near near the slide is in front of the slide or behind?

It's a 2018. I got it 2 weeks ago. The very front handle is black and marked as black. Then a grey right beside the front drain pipe and another grey in the back just beside the back drain pipe.

It is near the front of the couch/dinette slide. Might need to get on your back to find it the first time, but I bet it is there.

Good luck.

That is the one I was looking for yesterday. I even when under the wheel and still could not find it. I'll go again today and make sure I check everywhere and if I don't find it I'll have to bring it back and have them explain why I have a missing handle. Maybe I need to open the panel under there and see if I can see where the handle should be.

Thumbs up Found my pulls

I went back to see my 5th wheel at the storage facility and I found the fourth pull. The setup is different then everyone else's trailers.

I have a black one a few feet in front of the forward drain and a gray one a few inches forward of the forward drain. Then a third gray is about 2 feet in front of the back drain and the one I didn't see is about 6 inches behind the back drain. That last one is placed so high that it is bellow the skirt of the trailer and I have to push it down to be able to open it because if I don't it hits the skirt. It also looked like it's already pulled being only 2 inches from the skirt but it's not. When I pull it out it ends up a few inches outside the skirt. That does not seem right.

The other surprise is the first gray one found in the back seems to drain the black tank out of the front but the handle is gray and is labeled gray! It just is not intuitive why they put a long pull in the back to that drains a black tank found in the front and out of the front drain.

At least now I know how it's setup and the system is working. I may still bring it in to have them check it and make sure nothing is wrong.

Thanks everyone for the info that made me take a second look.

What makes you think the black tank empties out the front and the rear attach point? If it is just smell, the gray tank can get very smelly with food particles and such. If you are seeing toilet paper and other items that would obviously be black.

I don't think it would be possible for enough space to run a pipe, along with all the other pipes, from the forward black tank to the rear discharge. It would have to get over and under a lot of other pipes as well as the axles.

If you don't want to go to your dealer you could try putting some type of dye in each tank, each a different color, then dump with a clear fitting on the hose.

Either way if you have two tanks dumping out the back, yours is way different than all others of the same model from what I have seen.

Unhappy My accident

I am thinking this because the first time I used the trailer my black tank was full and it just would not flush. Some of my other tanks were also not empty even with other pulls opened. The kitchen sink started to fill with water. I decided I should do one tank at a time and would flush my outside kitchen tank so I connected the rear drain and pulled this one gray handle I found in the back. The front drain had a pipe but it was not connected to the campsite. Needless to say I was not happy with the results. I reacted quickly but not before a bit of black content spilled followed by a unpleasant cleanup job.

Now I need to experiment to confirm exactly how all these tanks are connected to the different pulls. I bought a Y junction so I can connect both drains at once. Once I have tanks that are getting filled I will open just one of them at a time and see which tanks emptied and then make sure all is labeled on the trailer.

I may have caused some confusion. The front gray thanks (two of them) and the black tank all come out the front. The only thing that is in the back is one of the pull handle that seems to empty the front black tank.

I like your die idea. If I can't figure it out I can get some and then I will know for certain.
