29.5BHDS Hitch - moulding/sidewall separating? HELP

Help. The moulding at the front of my 29.5bhds is pulling down a d away from my sidewall. The pics are when the trailer is hooked to my truck. When its unhooked and level the gap closes to about half the distance. What could be loose or wrong??

I would take it to the nearest dealer to have the frame structure checked out.

It may be the curvature of the road or the angle of the pictures, but it looks like the clearance between the underside of your trailer and the sidewalls of your truck may be a little too small. Usually 6 inches minimum is suggested, with 7 or 8 inches being better.

The vinyl trim molding issue may just be shrinkage of the molding (which is common) but it also could be a significant issue; so i second the idea of having your dealer check it out.

There is plenty of clearance. Then issue is not the rubber moulding, but rather the black hard mouling/trim. You can see the amount it has moved from the caulking line.

Get the pin box cross members and bracing checked quick. This has been an ongoing issue across many manf using the lippert frames. Just do a google search for lippert frame failures or pin box cross member failures and you'll have yourself more reading than you want.

May not be anything wrong, BUT, plenty of the failures started with the same picture you posted.

This is going to sound like a weird question, but, if you go in the rig while it is hooked up to the truck and try to open the bathroom door (swing open door to the hallway), does it rub on the floor?

Mine does, but now when the unit is leveled. I had is chalked up to frame flex, but you've got me thinking about watching the outside while I hook up and lift the jacks.....

I think the front of these is on the flexier side.

But I agree, I'd take it to a dealer. Something is wrong, whether it be frame flex or a few missing screws on the trim.

Funny thing. Yes i was having a problem with my bathroom door closing this spring. I made a slight adjustment at the time to hinge. But now you have me wondering if that was a sign of an issue. And yes that was when it was hooked to the truck. Definitely not missing or loose screws.

Warranty should cover this I have same trailer I'm concerned come this winter with our extreme cold weather if I'll get and shrinkage on my unit
