I guess I am a bit unsure what people are talking about with the tailgate.

I have the 'reg' bed on our 2017 F250 crew cab and Ican hitch up without raising the tail gate. Did the same with my 2009 Dodge 2500 crew cab. That also gives me almost 70deg of turn angle without hitting the rear window (no, I do not have a sliding hitch).

My current hitch is a B&W Patriot installed on rails (not the factory puck system).

And, yes, we tow a bit nose high as well, about 4" or 5" high.
