355MBQS levelling system question

Hey all, we are interested in a mid bunk 5er and have greatly enjoyed all the discussion on the forum on those, particularly the 355MBQS. We like most things about this model - seems to have a good feature set and we wouldn't have to compromise too much in any one area. One question I had when looking at the comparable NorthPoint model (and some other manufacturers) is with the 4 point vs 6 point levelling system.

Is this something to be concerned about? Granted the northpoint is almost 42', but the Eagle is still 40, so 4 jacks vs 6 over that span seems like it could cause more motion. We have never had a 5er, so maybe I'm getting concerned over nothing. Seems like we're always trying stuff in the TT to make things stop moving as much as possible.

Thanks for any input!

I have the 6 point system. Very little movement. I had a 4 point on a 34' last time and it always rocked

The 6 point on your model is a big draw for me - thanks for the feedback. Very jealous of your rig!

I have a 355mbqs as well. It does have some movement, but its not that bad. I bought the jt srongarm jacks to help eliminate the movement. I haven't installed them yet, but what i have been reading they should help.

My 2017 293RKDS has the 4 point. It's surprisingly stable. Even with wheels off the ground. It's even better when we deploy the rear electric stabilizers that we had specially installed at the factory. We figured we'd have to install JT's but don't believe we will need to. We are also using Rotochok's. Figured coming from hydros with pinless angled landing gear to the classic tube in a tube in a tube sloppy pinned landing gear would have too much motion. But like I said, it's really stable.

That's a nice unit - good to know things are pretty stable. In your experience, would the 5' length difference mean much difference in stability with a 4 point system?

Mine is stable enough that it doesn't bother me. I've been in rigs with both systems and they all move a little. When I bought mine I tried to get the 6 point but it couldn't be built that way... I figured if it was an issue I'd have the dealer do it aftermarket... It's been a non issue for me and have since forgotten about it.

Thanks for the info - if they all move a little, then that might help us. Even if we're sensitive (pansies!), nothing we can do about it. We currently have 6 manual jacks around the TT at the seasonal lot and still have pretty decent motion. Could be the frame in a TT or something - I'm not too versed on that. Unsurprisingly, the biggest improvement came from using external stairs, so hopefully things will get better.

Whether 4 or 6 point on a new 5er, the auto feature sure sounds appealing too.
