377 convection oven

Hey y'all,
We have an order in on a 377 and left out the convection oven. Looking back on it we're thinking it might be a good option for full timing.
I'd like to hear some experienced thoughts from those who have and cook allot and whether or not it's worth having.

Thank you!

I do not have one in my htt. My parents had one in there tt, and liked it.

We do have two in our stick house. A traditional gas range with a convector oven, and a microwave with a convection oven. I like them both. We do not use them as often as I would think. But they do cook nicely, most of the time I forget it is a a cooking option. If you have not used one before they do cook a bit faster. But a lot slower than using the microwave.

Our microwave has an electric heating element off to one side where the fan is located. It just blogs the hot air around. It also does not get as hot as the oven, maybe 425 degrees max temp. We also have three racks for different cooking heights. Lots of parts, but we like it.

We have used ours. Mostly for cookies but did cook the best ham on Easter.

It's not a must have, but it's definitely a nice upgrade.

I had a convection in my old rig and now have the 2017 Gray Hawk DS31 and want to pull the Microwave and put in a Microwave/Convection as the wife wants on in the Gray Hawk, just have to find out if it can be done. She can't use the Oven in the Gray Hawk as she is on O2 24/7.......can't use the Gas stove so we use the induction cooking plate.

My Pinnacle has it and we use it all the time. Not only for cooking but will reheat stuff way better than microwave will.

The convection oven is nice, but I wouldn't replace the standard microwave with a convection if it was already ordered. If you can update the order and only pay the difference it may be worth it. Of all the things my wife uses it for, none are make or break items. Almost everything except bread items can be made in a straight microwave but just may not be browned the same way. Unless like the above post there is a reason you can't use propane, the microwave alone isn't that big of a shortcoming to be worth the cost of tossing a new microwave in my mind.

Use the one in my Pinnacle all the time. Much easier than trying to stand on my head to use the standard oven, and the Fiver stays much cooler.

A microwave/ convection oven is exactly what it says it is. You can use it as a microwave, or you can bake like an oven.
Just don't forget to take the baking racks out when you microwave, unless you want to see 4th of July fireworks. [emoji2]

The convection racks in the home microwave are actually microwave safe. The ones in the Jayco aren't? I haven't used them in there but I do at home often.
