377 wiring question
I am tackling installing electric rear stabilizers on my 18 377. This is not a fun job, handling a heavy assembly while on your back, and drilling into the frame.
Anyway, I’m at the point of wiring, and I discovered three relatively heavy duty wires tucked in the cavity next to the main AC plug on the side of the coach, a red, brown, and blue wire. I assume these would be for a factory installed electric cord reel (which I didn’t think was an option on a North Point).
Anybody know where they terminate? Maybe in back of the fuse box? When putting a fuse in any vacant slot in the panel, they won’t power up.

Thanks, they were very quick to send, but the diagrams don’t show trace runs, just terminal components. The wires I found weren’t tied to any component in that area. I’ll go digging behind the fuse box this weekend.

Are you adding additional stabilization beyond the ground control jacks? I’d like to see how this turns out as I’ve been thinking of adding something back there to minimize the shake.

My quick test using a car battery to raise it into place showed a huge improvement in stability at the back of the coach. I'll do a full write-up after wrapping up the install this weekend. Pleasantly surprised by how high it tucks up when fully retracted, was worried it would be hanging down further and be vulnerable to steep driveways.

These are most likely for the SaniCon option. My 2020 are Red, Brown with White stripe and Blue. I suspect that the red is hot (because it’s an illuminated switch) and brown and blue run near the sewer outlet, I didn’t look there because it’s dark and a spider was giving me the eye.

Looking forward to seeing the final product. I was thinking of something much simpler using leftover parts from JT Strongarms and a ratchet strap, lol!

Further correspondence with Jayco confirmed that the harness I found is indeed for optional Sanicon.
Do you have a dedicated fuse on your fuse panel for Sanicon? Where is the switch located (I assume near the unit itself)?

On mine (2020 377) it is fuse #4, "Water and Macerator pump switches", 15A.
The switch for the Sanicon is located in the Sanicon station which is a few inches to the left of the 50A power receptacle at the very rear of the unit. The Sanicon pump itself is located just to the right of the sewer outlet and there are 4 wires there.
I don't know if there is any relay's involved, but I would guess that one of those 3 wires is +12v and probably leads to either the water pump or straight to the fuse panel, my money would be to the water pump.
As long as the stabilizer draws < 15A that's probably a good wire to use since it's not likely you would run the water pump at the same time you're stabilizing. Of course if the wire runs to the water pump, it's easy enough to run a new wire to the fuse panel and dedicate a circuit to the stabilizer.

Yeah, I think I'm in the middle of a vanity project, the form may be much greater than the function. There are simpler ways to accomplish this!

Thanks, Bill. That's the end of the harness I have visibility to, it's the other end I need to chase down.
Jayco is now telling me they should terminate at a relay in the vicinity of the battery disconnect switch. My contact there has been great getting me answers from engineers.

Word from Jayco is to look for a relay in the vicinity of the battery disconnect switch.

Are you talking about crisscrossing ratchet straps?
I tried that on my first 5ver. Didn’t work. Lol.

Wrapped up the wiring today. No matter where I looked, near the battery disconnect, behind the fuse panel, or behind the switch panel, I could not find any disconnected wire pairs that traced back to the ones for the Sanicon.
I then decided to test for 12v at the red wire, but used the chassis for the ground, instead of the brown wire back there, and son of a gun, it was hot. It was attached to a resettable fuse near the battery disconnect.
I used it for my 12v source and drilled and tapped the frame back there for my ground point. No extra wires running length of coach.
All working as intended with the stabilizers. Makes a huge difference.

Yesterday I was installing a transfer switch for my soon to come Onan 5500. While in there, I think I found the relay you were looking for. On my 2020' it’s behind the wet bay, no where near the disconnect switch. A little late in for for you, but thought I would let you know.

Sorry, I am late to this discussion as well. I am in the process of installing a sanicon and traced all the wiring down. I intend to post on it when finished.
My relay is also behind the wet bay as Nylyon stated. It was wired I believe to shunt the relay from working without the sanicon. That is the only reason I could figure for a splice in the red/white stripe wire coming from the front to the relay. Both of those were plugged into the relay and on each side - the control and the output side. No ground connected, so it couldn't energize. The other side of the output runs to the sanicon location. The wire was tucked under the coroplast and a loop is exposed to pull it out to get to the end.
Anyway, good to know you got it covered.
