I had to mount a piece of plywood that could span two of the aluminum floor joist than I mounted the reel to that piece of plywood. Mounted the plywood with four self-tapping screws (two on each end). Then took it down and mounted the reel to the plywood with 4 nuts and bolts. Then put the assembly back up. Works great without taking up floor space.

bdreinv, support arm for what? The plywood is supported by the floor joist & the reel is supported by the plywood.

Good idea if your plugin is right by your basement door but mine isn't. My plugin is in my left rear corner of my 5ther. I just roll my cord up on the ground in a two foot circle like you do a water hose. I bought some of those reusable large rubber twist ties from Home Depot. When I coil my cord up it's in the back of my pickup while traveling. I do have a 15' 50a extension cord I keep in my basement, just if I need that little extra length.

50' No Problem

I also have the Pinnacle w/auto-reel. Yes, it's a little heavy on you if you don't approach it correctly. Best way I've found is to unplug, lay out cord so it runs straight into opening vs from angle. Guide in with hands 'till it goes completely in, never had any issues. Really do like all the other approaches to non auto.
