I've had a built in 50 amp Progressive and now have a Hughes Watchdog. I had the portable PWD50-EPO but recently converted it to a built in. They do have one specifically for built in, PWD50-EPO-H. They are not quite as expensive as the Progressive and have an easily replaceable board if it does get fried. It has app that works off a built in blue tooth that shows what's happening with it. That works well also. I've had it for 2 seasons now and it has not given me any problems. It did let me know I had a bad a/c that was drawing too many amps when we first got the Pinnacle.

50 Amp Surge Protectors
Do you want just a surge protector or the recommended full EMS?
I use the built in Progressive 50amp EMS, EMS-HW50C. Besides surge, it monitors low/high voltage, missing neutrals and other kinds of miss wired power sources.
Get the one with the remote display so you can see what’s happening.

Progressive Industries as the others have mentioned.

I've always used Progressive Industries hard wired EMS devices. They have great customer service and if the unit takes a hit replacement parts are available and easy to swap. Depending of course on where you choose to install it.

I’ve had a 30A pole mount and now have a 50A hard-wire, both Progressive Industries EMS. Both were/are trouble free. I had a question while installing my 50A and called their tech support on a Sun afternoon and was not surprised that I had to leave a message. I was surprised to get a call back about 45 minutes later.

X2 once more. Ours lost the protection almost brand new, pretty certain it was not a surge as it was connected at home. Called them, very friendly and helpful. Had new guts in a few days.

I've used both the 30 and 50 amp Surge Guard brand with good luck. Their reputation seems have gone away with poor warranty and no repair capability so if a replacement was needed today, would probably opt for the Progressive Industries instead. I would also opt for the separate digital fob.

Researched quite a bit. Went with the Watch Dog 50 EPO. Have only had it a month or so, but like the bluetooth capability to "see" my power usage. Also like the fact that the surge protector is replaceable which as far as I know is unique to Watch Dog.

The Progressive Industries Hardwired versions have replaceable parts like the surge protection. They also have a scrolling LED display that shows errors as well as amp draw.

I like my Southwire Surge Guard. I also have the Bluetooth module for inside my motorhome which displays all of the same information. I prefer not to use a phone app so I decided on the Southwire with the Bluetooth module. Works great
