5th wheel hitch

Hello everyone,
I just traded my Toyota Tundra for a Silverado 2500 diesel and I had to have the hitch moved. If I measure from the ground to the top of the hitch, should it measure the same on both vehicles or is there more to it than that? Both trucks have the same length bed, 6.5 ft.
Thanks for any advice

I doubt the height will be the same from the Toyota to the Chevy. There are a couple things you must consider, spring squat difference, actual bed height from the ground. You should be able to adjust your hitch height, or your pin box to set up your new truck, for your fiver. As far as the bed length, your hitch MFG's rails will dictate where it goes. Happy camping, good choice in truck as well.

I agree with glazier. Hitch height is a trial & error method. I looked for 6 to 8 in over the bed rails or sides. When I installed the SideWinder and a New Reese hitch I adjusted 4 times. O'ya in December in Chicago, the wife was getting Mad at me too. She helped !!!
