What is the best hitch to get?

That’s like asking what’s the best truck or what’s truck or what’s the best motor oil. Lol.

Trailer Saver hitch is the best, but it’s the most expensive and probably the heaviest.

The best bang for the buck is probably B&W.

I have had a Kurt, B&W and a Trailer Saver. The Trailer Saver was the most expensive and heaviest. But does provide the smoothest ride. I've had it now for over two years. And the wife no longer complains about not being able to read while on the road. It depends on your needs, or course. If your doing mostly weekend camping and taking shorter trips, another, less expensive model might be better for you. But for us, nothing makes the drive smoother than the Trailer Saver, which really helps on long hauls like we often take.

I had a Curt Q20 on rails and currently have a B&W. Both hitches are great hitches. I liked the way the pulled and coupled and uncoupled. Curt supplies hitches for GM trucks and you can get them right there at the dealer.

Imo, either one you cant go wrong.

The answer also depends on your truck. If you have a 1 ton with an 8 ft bed then your options are wide open. If you have a 3/4 ton with a short bed (and some beds are shorter than others) then your choices get narrower.

I did a lot of research before choosing my hitch, the Super Ride by Blue Ox. It “slides” back for tight turns, it fits the B&W turnover ball, and weighs less than a B&W Companion. Perfect for my F250 short bed.

Good luck hitch hunting!

I've been very pleased with my B&W Companion. However it is very heavy......about 250 lbs. Just to take the head off for lubricating is a back breaker. But it is a beast!

Another vote for the B&W - love it, especially when compared to my previous Reese hitch.

Love my B&W Companion hitch. Much easier to get out and put in the truck than my old Reese 16k rail mounted hitch.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

Have been towing a 5th wheel since 2001. Have used 2 different Reese hitches and now the Trailer Saver. Pricey, even though I got mine used, but don't think I would ever tow with anything else.
