5th wheel plumbing

I have a 2016 jayco 26.5 Eagle BHS 5th wheel
Anyone have a diagram of all the valves? I’m struggling to know which ones to turn and off for various purposes.
Also, can someone describe to me what “country fill” is?

We have quite a few trips coming up that will not have full hookups and I will need to refill the fresh water tank multiple times so any tips there are greatly appreciated!

I don't have any diagrams, but County Fill is using the onboard pump to draw in water to fill the water tank.

Some use portable tanks and transfer the water into their units using County Fill. The hose between the water inlet connection needs to be non-collapsible (reinforced) since it will be operating under negative pressure. And the higher the tank can be placed the better to help getting it to "draw" into the unit.

Some use a separate pump at their portable tank to pump the water into the RV, when doing that you can use the "City Fill" setting. It is usually faster and more reliable to do it that way.

If I use a pump, I still need to turn the valve to tank fill yes?

Do I need to turn any of the valves inside (pump, hot water heater etc?)

If the goal is to just fill the tank from an external source (with a pump) it is almost exactly the same as filling the tank from a city (or campground) water spigot. You would position your valves to the City Fill position which directs the water from the inlet connection to the freshwater tank.

Does you unit have a diagram or chart near the valves that shows the where the handles should be positioned?

Perhaps an owner of a similar unit can help out. I have a motorhome and there is a strong possibility our valve arrangements may be different.

Worst case you could call or email Jayco tomorrow and request a valve diagram for your unit. You will need your VIN handy if you do contact them.

I've got the same unit, so, I'll do my best to help out. First off, on the exterior of the trailer, you have city or tank fill as an option. Turned to city, a pressurized hose fills and pressurizes the plumbing to faucets etc. Turned to tank fill, a pressurized hose fills the fresh water tank.

Edit: looks like country fill is done via the anti-freeze hose by moving the valve at that hose connection and also the valve across from it so water runs to the tank instead of the fixtures.

On the inside. These two are your hot water bypass valves for winterizing. You can also see in this other photo the backside of the outside panel and the valve you switch back and forth for city and tank. Pretty simple system. One thing I found is I need the water pump running to pressurize the outside shower connection when using fresh water. If left on, it stays on and cannot be overridden with the inside switch, so be sure to turn off that outside pump switch after use. This is especially important if your fresh water tank is emptied later on, as the pump with just run and run trying to pressurize the lines.

Call Jayco and give them the last 8 numbers of your VIN. They can email you the PDF files on your 5er. I call them and got the plumbing and electrical layouts. This will help you in all your questions.
Happy travels, Chris

Hello,
You can call Jayco and ask for the PDF files on the plumbing and electrical systems. The saying country fill is using your 5er's water pump to pump water from a external water jug into your water tank. Your owners manual will explain this. If you don't have your manual, ask Jayco to email you the PDF file of the manual also.
Happy travels,
Chris
