6 year old Jayco skin peeling WTH?

So I assume that the Jayco skin is only good for 6 years WTF is up with that?
I have a 2008 Jayco 341 RLQS. And the skin is bubbleing off the frame. This is is BS!!!

Is there a fix for this or am I just screwed owning a Jayco?

Usually a sign of water intrusion.

It's more than likely 7 1/2 years old now at least 7. Water as stated is normally the problem....improper maintenance.

Here is the linky for the pic. Now It looks like it was coming from the rain gutter. I just resealed the rain gutter with dicore. I had to make the 4 spots where the skin was bubbling at with circles.

If you have the leaks fixed you can drill small hole in bubbles and inject sealer making sure hole sealed up. You will loose your butt in trying to resale. If your installing the wood stove I assume your keeping it forever. So fix it to suit yourself and enjoy.

Ok what would you suggest to use as a sealer for the bubbles?

Since you obviously bought an improperly maintained used unit how can you even insinuate it's a JAYCO problem.

What do you mean by frame? Your pics shows the side of the trailer.

Well I thought sealer that was used from the mfg. on this 5'er would have lasted more than 7 years with little or no maintenance that's all I'm saying. Guess I was wrong!

Caveat emptor

There is NOT a RV mfg out there that has found a "sealer" that will last 7 years with little to no maintenance. They all only warranty their seals for ~3-6 months from purchase date. Additionally every mfg will note that maintaining seals is the customers responsibility, and an inspection should occur annually at a minimum. Personally I do perform a detailed visual inspection of the roof, seals and caulking every spring and fall.

I am still pretty much a newby to the who RV trailer thing, but one thing that comes through pretty quick is that if you want your trailer to last you have to a complete fanatic about checking the sealing and maintaining the sealants so that you keep the water out.

I am on my second trailer - but a used first time out - it was a 1995 that had been carefully maintained and all of the sealants kept up with and it was just fine.

I'll let the more knowledgeable folks on here correct me, but I think the deal is if you keep the water out then your trailer can last for decades - if you don't keep the water out then even a two or three year old trailer will have problems.

Exactly, there are no sealants that do not need regular inspection for cracks and leaks. That fact is up to the owner and is spelled out in literature.
Keep out moisture and it will last a long time, but maintenance and inspection are a requirement.
