Switching to cool hi made the difference. We set the thermostat at 74 and it's kept up all day so far and really dumping water. Right now it's 100 with a real feel of 113. When it's 100 outside, 74 seems like you're in a fridge. If it continues to hold a comfortable temp, I'm not going to put it in the auto mode when in extreme heat.
Exactly. In this heat/humidity in Texas, I will keep it on Cool/Hi from now on.
Will do. I even asked the service manager if they didn't find anything wrong, was there a bigger/stronger a/c unit I could have installed and he said no, the Dometic Whisper Quiet was as big as we could go and the best that could be done.
That's not exactly true...there's a new Furrion unit out that is 15.5k

Just the name "Furrion" would scare the hell out of me

Ok, thanks. So that said, I don't think 500 btu is worth paying the cost of an entire new whisper quiet unit I would be paying out of pocket for. And I too would do nothing with the Furrion name on it. But thanks for the input.
I'd appreciate an update on whatever the dealer says on whatever test they intend to run. I'm having some issues with my LR unit; BR unit runs and cools like a champ and trimming it so it pushes air up front is sometimes the only way I can keep the LR cool enough.
For now it works okay, just not great. I may try running it with the fan constant on instead of hi/auto. But I think I've just resigned myself to replacing it with a 13.5K high efficiency unit in the next 18 months or so.
I got a text from the service manager. They had to retape some of the ductwork. Said it's working much better now.
It sure sounds like your coil froze over. Make sure both coils are clean and straight.,(no bent fins), and nothing is blocking them. Have a dealer clean the coils or buy both sprays and do it yourself, Yes, I would leave the fan on Hi not auto.
