AC filter replacement

Has anyone found a source for the AC filters Jayco put on the 2014 Premier campers? I pulled one of the two cold air return vents and unlike the foam pads they use to use, mine has a thin membrane filter that's wrapped with cardboard.
Called my local Jayco dealer to price them and was surprised when the parts guy said he wasn't aware they had even changed them.

Thanks,
Jr

I have not even looked at mine yet. Perhaps a automotive cabin air filter might serve us better, though I would not want to impede the airflow and burn out the fan motor. Just an idea.

Can you post some pics of it? Don't have my unit accessible currently.

I pulled a grill over the weekend and ours was really nothing more than the same open cell foam you'd find if you're used to the larger AC grill mounted on the ceiling. It did have a cardboard border ring but it wasn't a part of a filter assembly, just looked to be a spacer.

I'm sure theres a cold air return filter out there just waiting to be used in an RV. Might even look for small thread inserts to use in place of the wood screws holding the grate to the ceiling.

I will have to take a closer look next week and will snap a picture. I pulled the vent and saw the cardboard but didn't attempt to pull it loose to see if it was 1 or 2 pieces.

Dealer called back today and after speaking with Jayco, said the cardboard/fiber filter are not being used anymore and they have gone back to using the ole standard open cell foam as filter media. At least finding replacement filters just got a little easier.

Thanks 225orourke. I will have to take a look at what you are talking about. I'm sure they are quite a bit cheaper than the dealer charges too.

they are about $15 to $20 ,but you keep washing it and re-using it .I'm sure you'll have to replace it sometime but near as often.
