AC Shroud

Why do they use a black shroud? Does the extreme attraction of heat benefit the operation of the AC...........I wouldn't think so! Thoughts? I'm thinking of having mine painted to match the roof color.

The only benefit I see... the black shroud will melt the snow accumulations pretty fast compared to the white ones.

Probably the ones with the heat pump option.

They use black to match the other black items. White ac covers would look odd when everything else is black.

Sorry Earl, but that doesn't make much sense to me. Does a black shroud help the operation of the air conditioning mode.............not talking about esthetics.

I don't think it makes any difference. It's about what matches the RV. My last one was 38ft white and gold so it had 2ac's with white shrouds. My North Point is almost 43ft tan and black so it has black shrouds. They both cool good with no problems.

Went from always having white to black, saw no difference. The cover doesn't touch the evap nor the condenser, air gaps all around. There is also air being circulated in and out of the cover while it runs. The important thing is air flowing through the condenser.
