Adding a bedroom AC

Ok Jayco owners, thinking about adding a 2nd AC in the bedroom. We have a 2011 Jayco 29.5 RKS. Does anyone know if this unit is prewired for a 2nd AC? Out 5th wheel is about 80 miles away right now or I would just go look.

I believe contacting Jayco and asking that question and if the roof needs additional reinforcing would be a question they could answer. As I understand they are pretty helpful with this type of information once the TT is out of warranty. You will need the VIN.

It shows that it was an option so more than likely it is.

Your roof will be fine and the existing roof vent is made for it. 99 percent chance its pre wired...but if not its real easy to run power to it with a strip from Home Depot or or other and just plug in to a wall plug that's on a different breaker than the main ac. If your 50 amp now your ready to go. It takes about 30 min to install the AC. Come on down and I'll help you no charge.
You need this which includes both the inside and outside pieces. Non ducted which is what you want.

Just looked at Jayco's 2011 website and it shows some models may have left the factory with 30amp power cords. If you have a 30amp power cord it may not be pre-wired. If you have 50amp you stand a good chance it was pre-wired.

Just a thought... If you have enough floor space it might be cheaper and easier to get a portable AC unit. you can buy them for $400 or cheaper (especially this time of year). They dump the heat out a window or roof vent. Run an extension cord to the 20 amp household outlet at the power tower.
