Adding a Sanicon system to Jayco 5th Wheel

Has anyone added a Sanicon to a Jayco 5th. I know its an option from the factory and the 2018 that i want doesn't have it. There is very little info on the internet. Most of the videos are for Class A campers.

We added the sanicon after we purchase it. Depends on the model that you have and if it is prewired but it was pretty simple to do once you figured out. Let me know if you have any question and I will take pictures if needed.

Definitely add it...........it's a great system. I never use the conventional sewer hose........they are a mess to deal with.

We ordered it with our 2018 Jayco and truthfully only use it on rare occasions. I wouldn’t order it again. It works great but if we stay someplace it’s usually for an extended time and I hook up the hoses. Where I use it is on the road for a couple or multiple one night stays. After 2 or 3 nights I can dump quickly and hit the road without having 2/3 full tanks.

Wife and I bought a 2018 30.5 CKTS and it came with Sanicon and it works awesome! I highly recommend it!

I have a Jayco toy hauler and it is prewired but when I checked the wiring to see which wire was hot non of them were. If you can snap a photo of the wiring or even just share what color pre wiring connects to the pump that would be awesome. I called Jayco and they said they can not share that info. I had to have a dealer install it.

Yes, please do. Did you cut out a place for it on the side? I've been told some Jayco's come with a sticker showing where to place the sanicon. Where did you order the sanicon?

How do you know the wiring is for the sanicon? Was there a sticker?

Have you read about a portable macerator? I use one from time to time and glad I have it.

Mine did not come with one and I wanted to add it at the dealership. Crazy, it's a $400 option from the factory at build time, yet the dealer wanted to charge me about $2800 because there was so much labor involved (sealed underbelly, etc). So, in the end, I'm left with a traditional dump hose.... I couldn't justify that kind of expense and everyone I talked to steered me away from the macerator. The dealer said there were so many complaints about the system and that's why they didn't order the coach with it from Jayco.

I have the Sani-Con installed on my 24MBH. When I upgraded my converter last summer there was a Bosch style relay that was attached to the back on the converter with a drywall screw. I tracked it down to the Sani-Con system. This may be why none of the wires are hot. You should see if you can find the wires behind the converter.

My 2018 336FBOK has a sticker saying where the door for the sanicon would go, but no other information, but If it’s that expensive I’ll pass and use the regular hoses.

Wow $2800. I had the dealer add the Sanicon when I purchased the 5er. It was $800 and dealer covered $400 of it, so $400 was my cost. However they did not stock it so it delayed picking up the trailer for 3 weeks. But, as I was dewinterizing a couple weeks ago the system leaked real bad where the connector hose attaches to the cuff. They only used 1 screw when they installed it and strapped the hose super tight to hold up other side, this I am sure put the stress on the cuff causing leak. Just glad it was only water that leaked. 🙂 The dealer is going to fix it when I take it in to the have front AC replaced with a low profile. I have a flowjet mascerator from my previous TT that I can use until then. I think the mascerator is great as the closest I can get to my septic at home is 100+ ft. Beats the hell out of filling and dragging the tote2 around.

It could have been also that the dealer didn't want it install it but no worry I can keep doing what I've always done.

Yeah, I definitely got that I impression from my dealer. The sales person was steering me away from the Sanicon system from the moment I brought it up. I talked to the guy doing the PDI and a parts person and they all warned me to stay away from it. After talking to my local (and trusted) RV tech, who said the same thing, I decided it wasn't worth it.

I asked my dealer before picking up our 37MDQS about adding it and was informed that there wasn't enough room to install it. He even went as far to say that Jayco is advising the dealers to order the units without the system. Seems to me they wouldn't have bothered to install the little door on the outside if there wasn't enough room to install it after it left the factory. I then had the opportunity to speak with a tech, and he said no problem. I am with you all. I just think they really didn't want to do the work.

Pro for the portable macerator?

1) Leaving the honey wagon in the back of the truck then pumping up and into it. Then driving the 1/2 to the dump station.

2) When at family (visiting), I can macerate to the flush connection with a 3/4"dia garden hose.

3) Cost; Sanicom $1,500? Portable macerator $ 200.

I don't understand the Sanicom system but interested in the pro and cons of it.
