Additional Power outside 29.5 BHDS

Does anyone with this model think there is a need for power at the outside kitchen or do you think a power strip would be the best way?

I have some romex, but not sure if I want to go through the hassle of running the wire and hiding it so it closes nice when the kitchen counter is closed up.

I ran a power strip last weekend, and it worked fine, but thought to myself, why didnt Jayco do this.

I also have the same unit and there should be power there. I did use the open plug for the outside fridge as an alternate power source. It would also be nice to have lighting for both the outside kitchen and fridge.

I thought about putting lighting in the storage area, but then I think there would be more bugs. Right now the bugs hang out at the light strip.

I have it on my to-do list to add an outlet to the outside kitchen area. Probably will tap the same outlet that runs the outside fridge since it's the closest (or appears to be)

I added one more light to the basement (front door). Makes no sense to me why there wasn't one there from the factory...

I agree there needs to be power in the outside kitchen just waiting to see who is going to be first one to do it.

I initially thought we'd need it, but I have an extension cord plugged into the fridge plug and stretch it over to the counter. The door tends to be open when using the kitchen and DW isn't complaining, so to me, problem is already solved.

Sounds like we (29.5'ers) are all on the same page. My 1st thought was, I need lighting in the4 kitchen area. Still not sure exactly where but I will add some. as for power, I was thinking of adding an outlet just to the right on the tank meter, on the blank panel. There is enough room behind the panel and between the sink to fit one. Just have to see about how to best run the wiring so it moves easy enough during opening & closing.
Its on my 'list-of-things' to still do!

I was confused at first, then I remembered the tank meter, which mine is so low next to the fridge, its almost a waste to have it. I cant even get my hand in there to check it, so I just leave that tank open....which when I opened it last weekend, the handle pulled right off the frame. The screws were probably tightened to the point where they twisted, and then just broke off in my hand. My dad had an idea of using an old extension cord (heavy Duty of course) keep the male plug on, and then drill a hole big enough for the wire to go through, and then put an outlet at the kitchen. This way the plug is on the ground fault and I don't have to play around with existing wire and potentially void a warranty.

Scott, where is your tank meter located? Mine is just to the left of the handle for the outside kitchen (circled in red)

Mine is located next to the fridge in the outside compartment. Horrible place for it. I like the placement of yours. Was that stock?

I was wondering where my tank gage was. I don't have it on the pull out shelf either. So it is located in the fridge compartment? Where?

Yes mine came stock where it is. Mine is just above & left of the handle used to pull out the kitchen. Seems like to best place for it, just below the sink so you'll know when it's almost a full tank.

Mine is in the same place as Aero-Daves, I replaced the rear drain cover with a cover with an outlet for a hose. I no longer have to stretch a stinky slinky and have put a valve on the fitting to drain while driving, Drip, drip, done when home! I ran a hose 1 weekend to drain.

I just located my tank gage and it is next to the fridge outside. I cant even get my hand in between the fridge and the wall to push the button. What a poor place to put this. Need to have the fridge moved over the right for extra clearance!
