Additional Propane Tank

Quick propane question.

I’m looking to add a 100lb tank to my Eagle. Following the two stock 40lb tank lines, they connect to each other via a changeover regulator it looks like. From there, there are two additional lines for accessories - one toward the front of the rig, and one near the rear bumper. The rear bumper LP port has a quick release it looks like, and the LP port near the front has what looks like a brass plug on the end of the line.

Will I need anything special to hook an additional tank up? Or can I just plug into one of those two additional lines?

Appreciate the advice, enjoy your weekend.

The port in the rear with the quick disconnect is for a BBQ or cookstove not to add an additional tank. Not knowing you Trailer I am not sure but if it is like ours the front has an additional spot for a tank to be used for a generator if you had one. Ours already has the tank installed (gen-prep) but we have no generator so that tank is backup for our other two.

So, I am going to assume that you can add another tank in that spot. I am sure there are other Eagle owners on this forum that could give you that info.

Hope that helped some.

Appreciate the quick response,

Our rig is prepped for a generator in the front storage compartment by the fifth wheel hitch.

You’re saying that LP line is where you connected an additional tank?

Ours is set up that way too, but it has a cubby on the left side of the trailer that already had a 40gal tank installed to be used for a generator should we ever get one. I will go take a picture and then post it.

The attached photos is what mine looks like. That LP line hanging down has a brass plug that looks like has to be unscrewed to attach some kind of quick release for an additional tank.

That looks like an additional quick disconnect that is just capped off. If you were able to following the line it probably runs to your other tanks.

Does your Gen-prep area have a regulator and a spot for another tank?

That line does run back to a T fitting that connects to our other two 40lb tanks. Attached is what the gen-prep area looks like.

That black cable appears to be the only thing that would hook up to the generator.

That's the LP supply hose for your genset.

No, the junction box up in the corner is where the genset output leads connect. The harness in your hand is the remote start panel for the genset. The capped hose under the trailer is for the genset.

Everything would be fine using that for an additional tank in lieu of a generator, correct?

There is no connection for adding tanks from the factory. You can buy a kit to add tanks. They must be plumbed in BEFORE the regulator!! The two you mentioned is after the regulator. One is for the genset and the other is for grills.

Far from fine. Only way you can do that is use a dual stage regulator between the tank and the genset hose. Provided there is no back flow preventer to stop the flow from moving backwards into the system.

I see E-Trailer recommends this:

Is this something you’re referring too?

Edit, that does look correct. Don't know why they said for disposable cylinders.
