air bed

We have the 351 RLTS that has the L-shaped couch with the air bed. Have any of you used the bed and what did you think of it? Our daughter slept on it one night last summer and said it was the worst bed ever. She chose to just sleep on the couch after that. She said it was too short and didn't hold air very well. I wish Jayco had stayed with the old hide-a-beds.

We have a hide a bed in our new unit. Its been used once with high praises from my daughter. Our previous camper had the airbed and it never got used.

I too would prefer the real mattress if it was going to be used regularly, but for occasional use I would much rather lug an air mattress around.

My sister slept on it and although she said it was comfortable, she said it was freezing. The plastic cover I guess. So if anyone needs to sleep on it in the future I will put a comforter next to the mattress then the sheets. Hopefully that will help.

My kids have sleep on ours and said it was cool and noise. So we put extra blankets on the bottom and they haven't said anything yet. Said it was comfortable.

I slept in ours very often this past season and have no complaints. I find it comfortable. Well, maybe two minor complaints.......

1) You have to blow the bed up before everyone goes to bed because the air pump is loud. No big deal though.

2) An air bed will not keep you warm by itself because you're basically sleeping on a bed or air. Lol. During the night, the air inside the bed will be the same temperature as the air in the camper. If the camper is 70 degrees then you'll be sleeping on a 70 degree bed. You'll wake up shivering.

We keep a regular bed sheet tucked around the air bed at all times, even when used as a couch. We store a medium temperature comforter behind the back cushions along with a pillow. In the summer I simply lay the comforter in the air bed and sleep on top of it. In the winter I place the comforter on the air bed but then I put a sleeping bag on top of everything and sleep in that. The sleeping bag is stored under the couch.

The air bed is great.

We had an airbed on our Sunnybrook Titan and I didn't care for it at all. Our new Pinnacle KPTS has the fold out couch with foam and even though I don't ever expect to sleep on it it sure looks and feels more comfortable.

I'm confused at all the talk about cold air mattresses. Someone stole my air mattress while in the bush in the Army and I froze my patutty off until I could steal one from another guy. Those down bags the Army issued have no insulation when compressed and even a jeep tarp folded under me did no good. The air mattress provided the insulation I needed. I've since slept many a comfortable night in the woods with a short air mattress under my torso.

I've had a "hefty" couple sleep on our couch airbed and they found it comfortable. When we only have one person staying, they usually just sleep on the couch, which is pretty comfortable, too. Since we rarely have overnight visitors, I vastly prefer the lightness of the air mattress and it's good to have the drawer under the couch to store bedding.

We had visitors this weekend so we slept on air bed. It was ok but next time I will use my Boy Scout camping self-inflatable pad for a little more support. Or covering with a heavy quilt may help also. All in all I slept all night so it must work!

I have used mine a lot for overnight guests as well as for me when my sister visits and takes over my bedroom.

It is very comfortable, airs up and down quickly and couldn't be easier to use.

No leaks at all.

I just purchased a 33rlds that has 2 leather Hide A Beds and both have the air mattress. Even though they are the upgrade at $529 a piece I think it's the cheap way out vs installing 2 regular sofa's on Jayco's part.
From all my experiences with air mattress's they all seem to leak or will start leaking after a few times being used. I'd like to hear some feedback from some people that have these air beds. Thanks

we had our doubts about the air bed in our eagle but our guests say it is pretty decent. that and it is better than sleeping outside with the grizzly bears!

We used our air bed in our HT 26.5 RLS for our granddaughters last summer and they didn't complain at all. There didn't appear to be any leaks and set-up and tear-down were very easy. Only problem we had was getting them out of the bed.

Sleep on Air Mattress

We had overnight guests last Memorial Day weekend in our 351RLTS, with no complaints. Have to admit the outside temp was near 32 degs and inside at 70 degs. Mattress worked well easy to inflate & deflate.

We currently went fulltime, as we are taking a 2 year trip throughout the US. We had to replace the small/thin air bed with a larger one we found at Target, which included a pillow-top. Still folds down perfectly into the couch. We also purchased a heated mattress pad. All is comfy now, including times its snowing/cold outside. Our couch/bed is located in one of the slides, so the mattress always got cold until we purchased the heated mattress pad.

I dont think the offered air beds after 2013. Ours is a 2014 and came with Denver Mattres in the sofa and bed.
