Air conditioning fix and other mods

I started working in earnest on fixing or modding various items on my 31.5 BHDS yesterday. Got quite a bit accomplished! This is our second RV, so I had some things I knew I wanted to check, and others I knew I wanted to get done.

1. Add LED lighting. I went through the trailer and replaced the standard incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs. Greatly diminished the amp draw as well as heat build up.

2. As I was poking around the light fixtures, I noticed there was a SIGNIFICANT amount of air coming from the fixtures, which meant there was a pretty good leak somewhere around the air vents. Sure enough, I pulled one of the vents and discovered there was a 1.5 inch gap between the roof and the ducting. It looked like the insulation was above the ducting, which left nothing to fill in the gap. Air was blowing between the ducting and vent, and then out through any cavity it could in the roof to include the light fixtures, speakers, etc. I took some metallic HVAC tape and cut small strips to run vertically between the roof and the ducting. The end result was no more air leaks and I'm getting more air in the trailer.

3. Added Progressive Industries surge protector. I had one of these in my previous trailer. It was good for surge protection as far as I knew, but I really like the display that shows the amp draw. This took some time to install.

4. Changed out the shower head to the Oxygenics shower head.

5. Added screen material to the back of the refrigerator external access door. We have lots of wasps and that serves to keep them out. I also wound up cleaning this area out as it had lots of leaves and other debris that had blown in.

6. Replaced the analog thermostat with a digital thermostat made by Hunter. I had to add the toggle switch on the side for the fan high/low, but was pretty easy otherwise.

I have more to do, but that's all I could get done yesterday. My wife also had a good time trying to figure out where everything we had was going to go. We have LOTS more storage space in this camper, so space certainly isn't an issue.
