As far as your electrical abilities: Can you plug in a wire? Can you do it twice? Then you have the ability to do it! It truly is harder to climb up on the roof than it is to install the capacitor. Absolute worst case, you can send me two pictures of your unit and I can circle on the photo where to plug what in.

The 2400 does not run full out with the AC on, which keeps the noise level down. If the generator is by the power inlet, I can hardly hear it over the AC noise outside.

I would expect that a single 2000 watt would be a gamble, may work, may not. It may do it, but it will run full out and be noisier because of it. They are common, so perhaps someone would be nearby that would let you try, or maybe rent one for a day.

If you're really interested, I can take a video of mine to give you an idea of sound level.

Don't be afraid of the capacitor install!!! It really is simple!!
