another tire story

I having problems trying to decide. , but I want to put LT 235/85R16 Load Range G 14 Ply Goodyear G614 RST Unisteel Radial Trailer Tire,($300 a tire) I have 235/80/r16 Maxxis ties now, Installed 9/2012, one blew out last weekend. The gap between my tires now is about 3.5 inches, but with the 235/85, the gap would be about 2 inches or less, Am I asking for trouble or not,
thanks

I have the same tires on my 2011, 351 and no clearance problems.

My oe rims are rated for 110 psi.

When I was looking for tires, I was looking at up sizing. I called the frame manufacturer, they did not have any concerns about the clearance between the tires, just the vertical space for the suspension to flex

Are your wheels rated for 110 psi? The G 614 require that.

How many miles did you get out of the Maxxis?

This is the first "fail" I remember reading about for a Maxxis. I'm also curious about the details (miles, wear, etc).
