Anyone with a generator tray in 5th wheel front storage?

Our last trip, I put our Champion 3100 generator in the front storage area of our fifth wheel. It did fine there as we didn't need it the entire trip. Does anyone have or do they make a tray that the generator can sit on and if you need to use it, can slide it out to run it? Would be much easier to lift off and on if it were on a tray. There's plenty of clearance in all directions for the generator and a tray. And I don't want to have to buy a smaller generator since I already have this one. I have a receiver hitch in the rear rated at 300 lbs but don't really want to put it back there and try to lock it up.

My rig has a front area for a generator. I did not get the option. I lift my Honda 2000i into the location and remove it if I use it.

It is pretty light though.

Yea, ours is about 100 lbs and is sorta bulky. Was easy before my shoulder surgery, lol.

I made a battery tray that is holding almost 300lbs of batteries.

That's something like I'm thinking about. It has to be at least 24" wide for the generator to sit on, and I'd have to have the tray mounted high enough to slide out over the lip of the storage area.

Mine is up 3” to clear the lip.

Gen Tray

MORryde makes a variety of trays. I used a 24 X 24 tray for my generator. It is 2 inches high so the slide out tray clears the lip just fine. I did have to trim the pull out handle as it stuck out just a wee bit too much in order to clear the door. Installation was a breeze as the front baggage area was accessible underneath for the retaining bolts.Click image for larger version

I love this idea. Most of the generators I have been looking at in the 3000 range and up are all about 20” tall and my opening is a tad less than 20 and maybe right on 20 if I removed the door. The overall height once inside is plenty. I have a Jayco Eagle 321RSTS so curious what you have and your opening height?
