Auxiliary diesel tank

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this question but...

Has anyone considered installing an auxiliary diesel "in bed" tank in their tow vehicle? I have a 2016 Ram 8 ft bed with a Andersen Ultimate hitch. I am considering a Titan 40 or 50 gallon in bed tank. My stock tank is only 32 gallons so my range is about 300 to 350 miles. I would like to extend my range to a days travel, so at minimum, about 500 miles.

I am going with the Titan 55 replacement tank. By the time I invest in the aux tank, the feed valve, delivery and loss of bed space I would rather go this route. Not to mention having to climb up in the truck and fuel up.

Yes it's $400 dollars more, but it will be like my truck is now only with 300 more miles until empty. Putting me up to 500 mile range with reserves.

My bed is utilized every trip and I am not willing to give that up.

Loaded I am getting 10.5-11MPG. Unloaded I can get 17.

Searching for fuel stops every 250 miles out is not my favorite thing.

RDS was my choice for in bed when I was comparing options.

Also 32 is misleading as I have had it down to 8 miles to go and could only fit 29.5 in it.

I have a 45 gallon RDS tank. It is gravity fed into the main tank. I have a solenoid hooked up to one of my upfitter switches. Works great

I didnít even think about adding a solenoid and wiring to my switches. I was a dumby and was just going to leave the manual turn lever.

You know my wife doesnít like you, right Tom? You keep having me spend more money!

Have only had our Ď99 F250 7.3L PSD for a couple of months but the previous (and original) owner installed a Transfer Flow auxiliary tank in the bed. LCD gauge in cab shows the percentage of fuel in both the main and auxiliary fuel tanks, and lets you know when the fuel is being transferred from the auxiliary tank to the main fuel tank. Holds 50 gals, I believe. PO hauled an Airstream all over the country; worked great. I have a Stockland bed shell with side flip-up windows, so filling tank is easy. So far, Iím impressed.

I have a 100 gallon from Transfer Flow on my 2000 F350 7.3 diesel. 265,00 miles on it with no problems. I replaced the original tank on my Tundra with a 46 gallon tank also from Transfer Flow.

I have a titan travel trekker 50 in my 2016 gmc 2500 with the short bed. I still have plenty of clearance for my hitch.

After much research and overthinking, I think I will go with 3'senough. Titan 55 gallon replacement tank. I too, value my bed space. Plus I have a tool box that I want to keep.
