Awning Issue with my Eagle Premier

I have a 371FLFS and the awning comes down so low that the door rubs on it. Anyone have any ideas why and what we can do to fix it. It is an electric awning and adjusted all the way up as far as I can tell. Dealer is taking for ever to look into it. New trailer and it has been 4 weeks since we told him. No one out to look at it yet.

Your likely hood of quick service will greatly improve if you take it back to the dealer.. Waiting for them to send out a tech puts you down near the bottom of a dealers " things to do" list.

You have the screw knobs loosened all the way? Mine slides on tracks to pull it down on the edges should you want. If they are loosened then I am going to say you need a replacement since you may have the wrong one on your unit or it was mounted too low at the factory.

worse case scenario, I have seen people put a wheel on the top of the door so it will roll on it and not rub on it. But it shouldn't touch it I wouldn't think

If you roll it all the way out, then back in a couple inches does it still touch? My eagle HT touches with the awning all the way out....then I got to scrolling through the manual and seen how it is actually supposed to be and it doesnt touch anymore.

We have to roll ours up a couple inches also or the door hits. I just roll it all the way out and then take it back up till the door clears. The little flapper on the bottom you can still see it.

Thanks for all your responses. I would take it in but have no truck. It sits on a permanent site. Rolling it back up a ways is how we deal with it but you shouldn't have to do that. Mine you have to roll it back about 1 - 1.5 ft to get it high enough. Dealer out looking at it today. We will see what happens. I will post later.

Ruling it back up sounds like a piss pore solution to an obvious pore installation and design. I have a manual deploy version and yes I have to raise it up but I have some flexibility

Rolling the awning back up so you can use it defeats the purpose of having it to begin with.

My dealer was out last week and agreed with me. However now it is up to Jayco what they will do with it. They are talking about taking it off and mounting it up a foot or so. That means new holes and fiberglass work. Not sure I want all that. I guess we will see what they come up with.

Yeah a foot or more is too much.....all mine needs is about 3" back up. Puts the flap right at the very bottom of the roller tube.

He is referring to moving the top of the awning where it attatches to the 5th wheel up a foot I think that would help a lot. I wonder if they will say no because they may have to do more then one rv. I bet engineering missed the memo on how the new elecric awnings were designed. A friend of mine on his Montana has the same issue.

Even if they say no I wonder how much it would cost to do it anyways.

Mine also touches the top of the door if let all the way out. However, it can't be moved up attachment wise as it is all the way at the top now. We let ours all the way out and then just back up and take out the slack. Only a couple of inches at the most so no big deal.

How about changing the air cylinders to a slightly heavier duty? This should help raise the awning off of the door. Don't go overboard to the point of loosing the "auto dump" feature.

Thanks for that info. Was not aware of an auto dump feature. Can you explain more?
