Backup camera

2018 Eagle 321RSTS, is there a switch to turn backup camera on/off. I have not been able to find one in utility center or battery area.

I know 2017 had switch in utility area.

If it's the Furrion Vision 2 system, it's designed to be more than a back up camera, it can also function as a rear view mirror or general observation camera, and *should* be controlled by turning on the marker lamps.

I know early and late 2017 Eagles had the switch in the docking station. But sounds like they stopped doing that and put them on the running lights.

You are correct Mopar Earl. I have a 2018 HT 27.5 RKDS and the power for the camera comes from the marker lights.

How do you use it as an observation camera if you have to have the marker lights on? Not very convenient if the running lights would have to be on all night.

We use our camera for backing and as a rear view mirror. We have no need to use it for observation/security. We would have installed a 12 VDC line with a switch to use for observation..

I realize this is an old thread, but perhaps someone may offer some suggestions. I have a 2017 29RKS. My dealer installed a Furrion camera. I discovered that it is always on (and drawing power) even when not connected to the TV.. hence apparently not dependent on marker lights being active. I presume there is no switch hidden anywhere. Anyone have any great ideas for running a wire for a switch?

Just a thought, which you've probably already had:
Could the tech have spliced into the wrong wire?

My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS has a rocker switch for the camera power in the docking station. Heard the Eagle HT's have the switch near the batteries.

My 2017 27.5 RLTS has the power for the rear camera in the battery compartment on the front wall. It is a rocker switch.

Backup Camera

I have a 2018 327ckts. In the bedroom behind the thermostat or light switch you will find an orange wire used to power the camera from a switch. You will have to install a new rocker switch and wire to power from light switch and use the orange wire. Then you will have a power on off for camera. Also when you install the camera you will need to remove camera bracket and pull out the orange wire and use this for camera power.

Happy camping
