Backup lights under trailer

New mod.

I added the back up lights in 2016. Good, but not enough.
The back up lights go on with the truck’s reverse lights. I also have one of the up fitter switches in the truck rigged to shut the truck’s reverse lights off to get rid of the blinding glare back from the trailer.

I now rigged another upfitter switch to a wireless transmitter that turns on 4 led lights that light up the trailer wheels so I can see where the wheels are and where they are going.

Also I have a switch in the Level Up controller door that will turn the 4 lights on without using the switch in the truck so I can see around the trailer at night when levelling

Hi
Can you take some pictures of where and how you mounted the lights by the wheels?
Want to do the same thing

Seems like everytime I would do something like this here in Virginia I would always have to remove them when it became DOT Safety Inspection time...

I finally got into the habit of always running these kinds of mods past the Safety Inspection folks first before dumping monies into it...

Adding additional lights to my off-road JEEP got me in trouble with the Inspection folks a couple of times as well... Even the lens had to have special DOT numbers on them...

Just saying here in Virginia haha...

We put backup lights on several of our trailers, the wireless remote works the best. Come in really handy during the winter months when arriving at your destination in the dark. Very affordable and extremely handy upgrade.

I installed 4 led flood lights on mine on a 4 channel wireless remote. Left, right and rear. I use them for backing into sites in the dark and utility lighting. Also if I'm making a tight turn in the dark I can turn on the side I need. Used a wireless key fob remote. They work great. I put one of each front sides as far forward as I could and angled them out so I can see down the sides and the wheels. The two on the rear I mounted to the far ends and angled them outward. No sense in having light directly behind when you can't see directly behind.

It was you Earl!!!
I couldn’t think of who did this already ( we discussed this in a thread before)
I wanted to know where you had put your lights, but I couldn’t remember who had done it.
I tried the front but the 18w led wasn’t bright enough to get to the wheels. And I tried criss crossing...that made too much shadow.
Turning these on at night if something needs to be done around the trailer will be handy. That’s why I put in the switch. I remember you saying you had used the lights when you were parked at the site

The front ones are about 6’ in front of the wheels.
The wheels create a shadow..that’s why I needed to put another light after the wheels, because I wouldn’t be able to see where the wheels were headed.
The rear leveller makes a shadow, but so be it.

The last two pictures are of the wireless transmitter under the hood of the truck and the receiver in the propane storage.

I used 5" rectangular 72 watt flood lights. I was going to post the Amazon link for the ones I bought, but on the app they aren't giving me a share or link option. So no idea how to get a link. They use to have a share option to share items with several options.

The front ones I mounted under the LP tank compartments. I used much longer carriage bolts than what came with the lights to get them down further. I mounted them to the LP tank holding framework.

Find your lights at amazon.com then just copy and paste the link.
The app stinks for trying to share and copy

Can you post a wiring diagram of how you connected the remote system/transmitter?
