Baffling inverter

2020 RTS 321. From day 1 the inverter does not work. We take it in and they say it is outputting proper voltage. When off shore power it simply does not power the residential fridge. Last week while on shore power we had an electrical outage and the AC shut off but I noticed the fridge stayed on. So when the outage ended I unplugged and no AC from the inverter. I plugged it back in and shut off the breaker at the main and the inverter powered the fridge. Technician talked to the inverter mfg and the said check the wiring. Can’t see how that could be anything because it works as long as the shore power cable is plugged in and breaker off. Thinking of just buying a dummy plug and see if that works. Any ideas?

What your saying is contradictory.. You said when off shore power no fridge, but when power went off fridge was on????????

I think I have a ground issue. My inverter does not work unless the RV is grounded through the service panel. When plugged in and the service panel breaker OFF the inverter works. Obviously the inverter is not needed on shore power. I only realized this when the power went out and the inverter kicked on.

Then it could be a wiring issue. Check the connections at the inverter to be sure they are tight. Some use a push in connection and members have found them not properly seated.
