Bathroom mirror
Well over a year ago I noticed my bathroom mirror was down about 1/4" from the top of the frame. It appeared that the mirror was literally sliding down/off the hinged backing board. So I took to whole assembly off and brought it in the house.
Removed mirror with braided fishing line and cleaned both surfaces well. They put this rubber/plastic membrane on the back of the mirror so I guess if it ever falls off it will stay basically intact. I used 2 sided tape and caulk to re attach it and let it dry for a few days to insure it was stuck. They I used a hot glue gun and went around the inside of the perimeter to triple reinforce it.
Today me and the wife go to the trailer to put bedding back on a re supply for our upcoming trip. I'm outside and here my wife moaning and find out that the mirror fell off for good this time. What a lousy build item!
Its my guess that whatever that backing material is they use on the back of the mirror will not let anything attach itself to it for any length of time. So now I have another project, Yay! If anyone has found a good fix for this it would be most appreciated.

Replace it with a bath cabinet using screws and anchors. Mirror, more storage, if it fits it would be worth it.

Mine was also sliding down the backer board. The dealer replaced it under warranty and said it’s a common issue. The replacement from Jayo had metal J clips on the top and bottom to keep in place.

Ours was slowly sliding down too. Dealer replaced it and secured it better than factory did. No more issues.

Both mirrors in my 2017 Greyhawk slid down about 2 inches after about a year. I finally got around to fixing it after contemplating the situation for awhile (read that as procrastination).
The old mirrors came off easily by prying gently with plastic putty knives. The tape they used to secure the mirrors sure didn't stick well to either the mirror or the wood.
After cleaning all surfaces with alcohol, I used good old 1/2 inch 3M VHB tape to hold the mirrors in place. They haven't budged in 18 months.
I swear by VHB tape and use it all the time. The stuff just works. OK, I am a bit biased since I worked for 3M for 24 years and could get the stuff for free. These days, perish the thought, I am forced to pay for it which I gladly do.

I think I will get that VHB tape, Thx. I ordered a lite weight framed mirror on line that will be here Wednesday. I plan to tape it on and use my brad nailer and nail the corners so it cant shift. The J channel seems appropriate. Wish they would have done it right the first time. Time will tell how this works.
Well since I didnt actually break the mirror that 7 year thing doesnt apply.

Had this issue with our bathroom mirror as well. Dealer repaired under warranty last year. Not sure what they used, but it’s held for one season now.
The strangest thing is it took so long to notice the mirror had moved. Wasn’t until it was lower on one side than the other that I thought to investigate further -it’d dropped about an inch and a half!

Well the framed mirror will be delivered later today. I did go out and buy some of that VHB tape. Think I used enough?

Ditto on the 3M VHB tape. I used it on my bathroom mirrors too with no issues after over a year.

Same issue, but happened while at a custom place getting a drawer put in under dinette....custom place charged me $300 to have it removed, cleaned back and reinstalled, only to slide off 24 hrs after removing clamps! Jayco suggested Loctite glue......custom place had to remove all the silicone etc on back of mirror, put on the Loctite..and 2 years later no sliding! Didn’t get the $300 back

Took my mirror off and replaced it with a $70 medicine cabinet from Lowes. Much happier and more storage for small bathroom stuff.

Mirror replacement
My 19rd came with a medicine cabinet, first time out cracked my forehead washing my face. I replaced with a wood framed mirror from a discount store, put metal tabs on it and used the holes from the cabinet. I have added other storage to replace what I lost and like it much better.

Hubby took both mirrors off and re glued them a very strong glue, forgot that name and then he made to really thin oak ledges to put at bottoms of both mirrors so if they do slip they won't slide off.

Broken mirror
We have a 2018 Jayco Eagle 321RSTS and our mirror didn’t last a year. We had to have hit a big bump and it flew open and hit the shower door and fractured the top of it. Luckily no damage to shower door but a small scratch. Warranty would not replace nor did camping world offer any help.
It has a glued on led light strip on the medicine cabinet so hesitate replacing with a Lowe’s brand. Still would require a latch of some sort to keep big bumps from repeating the process. We now put towels up on shower doors just in case.
Ideas?

My mirrors slipped also after about 2 years. I removed the doors and brought them to a glass installer business and they removed the mirrors and reattached them with glue that “ will never let them fall off or slide” for about $60. It was worth it to me. No problems for two years.

Had the same problem with my 2017 Eagle after two trips to a mirror specialist shop they noticed the problem was the original backing would not adhere to anything after they removed it and used their adhesive it’s been fine 2 years now
