Batteries for residential fridge

Does anyone know if Jayco provides an allotment of money to the selling dealer to supply batteries. I asked how many batteries came in a Northpoint with the residential fridge and most people said two, one said four.

My 2019 Northpoint 377 was just delivered last night. I was told by my salesmen that only one battery would be provided. It's dealership policy dictated by the owner himself.

I stopped by the dealer to take a quick look and there are pre-made battery cables provided by Jayco that were under the bed with the rest of the misc. stuff. There were enough cables to hookup four batteries.

I wonder if Jayco gives the dealer money to supply batteries and the dealer is just pocketing it.

Look at the MSRP sheet, may be on there. My 15 PINNACLE came with 2 as designed. I think others here have gotten 4 with the newer units.

My new 2018 Eagle came with two. One battery isn't going to supply power to your residential fridge for very long.

Yeah, I know. I have 4 six volts from my old trailer I am putting in. It just seems to me that if Jayco is supplying the cables to hook four batteries up, that's what they intended. I don't know how the cost of the batteries are figured into the deal.

We don't have a residential fridge, but ours came with 3 batteries. Go figure.

Our 2016 Pinnacle has the wires for 4 and I have the residential fridge, I only got 1 battery. The sales guy said normally they don't give any batteries? Do they leave the plant with them installed? If not, how do the transporters depend on the break away working with no batteries?

I'm guessing transporters carry a battery and switch from unit to unit. I do know the dealer is responsible for the batteries.

Our first Jayco we weren't paying attention and we were probably lucky we got a battery at all from the dealer. Thunder RV in Oregon who we bought our Arctic Fox included two good Interstate Batteries with our camper and told me they included money in the deal for the batteries. The Indiana RV Connection put two batteries in our 315 RLTS and gave me the extra cables from Jayco to add two more. (I'm not crazy about mismatching batteries) If I would have asked for four when I made the deal they would have given me four. When I asked their setup guy if I could add them he was not very responsive about changing the norm. Bottom line though, I think battery installation is a normal dealer installed item. I think any RV with a Residential Frig should have four decent 12 volt batteries minimum. My opinion.

When buying the seismic, my dealer was very clear our unit required 6 batteries, what the price was and the fact that it was a separate line item on the bill of sale. They were up front on the issue and I pushed the question to which they responded I had their best price (which I was still happy about). I could have provided my own, but they're price was better than I could find on equivalent units.

When I bought the previous camper, 1 was included in the sale price and the MSRP indicated room and wiring for a second. So it's handled slightly different depending on the dealer.

Regardless, the dealer is pocketing your money either way. Jayco does not ship batteries nor do they pay your dealer for them. Outfitting the camper for final delivery is strictly the responsibility of the dealer.

We had 2 batteries and the fridge lasted 4 hours on the road. Added 2 more and the fridge lasts 6 to 8 hours now

What kind of batteries do you have? I've got 3 and I've driven for 10 hours without a problem.

Our 2017 came with 2 batteries. When I leave it is on -6 and 34. When I get there it's on -6 and 34. Longest run so far was 7hrs. I do have 2 batteries in truck which are connected when traveling.

Cannon, what type of batteries do you have? I have 2 Marine Master DP27's. I hope to go with Trojan T105's soon.

2 12V Exide that came with camper. When needed I will upgrade to T105's but so far these are working good.

I have four US Battery 2200 XC2. They are 6-volt 232 amp hours each, but they are four years old. If the 377 came with good batteries I would trade them with my TT. Since I'm only getting one, I am going to put the 5-volts in the Northpoint. Unfortunately they are not sealed. When they finally die, I'll get some lithium units.

My 2016 Pinnacle 38FLSA came with 6 12V batteries. I don't recall there being an extra charge for them on my sales sheet, but that doesn't mean much. Dealers are good at working the numbers so the financing works out.

My 2018 Pinnacle came with 3 batteries and when traveling my truck charges the batteries. I did have to add a fuse to make the 12 volt terminal in truck trailer plug hot.
