BBQ starting

We recently purchased a new 2014 31.5 BHTS Eagle touring model.

Have been in the unit for a total of 4 days with moderate use of furnace and water heater.

The BBQ work fine until today.(used 2 x) Followed operating procedure but no light up today..

Could not smell the propane at all.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Congrats on the new memory maker and, welcome to JOF. How's your propane level? Both tank valves open? Will the stove fire up? Is the BBQ quick disconnect firmly in place?

I'd pull and fill the propane tanks then start checking everything.

I would start simple, make sure you have propane elsewhere. Stove working? If so I'd disconnect bbq lines, reconnect everything making sure of all connections and try again. My home bbq seemed to get an "air lock" or something if the propane take was closed while grill burners open. Solution was just to disconnect and reconnect and it worked. Do you have out door stove top burners?

As suggested first ensure you still have propane. If so the next thing I suspect is the gas regulator. They are designed to safely shut off the gas flow if it "thinks" you have a leak. This error has frequently come about when you open both ends of the gas tank and consumer (stove, grill, etc) too rapidly (resulting in a propane surge).

To clear this kind of error turn everything off (grill and tank). Break the line to allow pressures to clear. Reinstall the line and with the grill OFF slowly open the tank valve. Allow a few min. for the line pressure to equalize. Then attempt to start your fire by the manual.

Our thanks for the welcome to the forum. RV camping is really a great adventure.

When we go out this weekend i will give the suggestions a try. re: air lock in line.

All other aspects of the propane system are functioning as forum members suggested.

As Stingray suggested - make sure you push that quick disconnect (both at the stove and under the trailer) in very solidly and then remember to move the lever back as this both locks the sleeve in place but is also a valve.
