Bed Headboard wall panel fail

Well, another trip, another repair project. Not sure how to re-engineer this poor design. I'm not removing the front cap.

Same thing happened to us. I put some screws through it to pull it back and built a mini studwall in front of it to take any braking or bouncing loads. Also gives us a little shelf for the cats to walk over instead our faces.

I'm going to do similar. I've got a piece of 1"x 8" I'm going to mount in front of it to protect it from the mattress. How did you re-attach the panel? I'm thinking a good adhesive and glue it back, then run some hollow wall fasteners through 1" x 8".

I'd like to apologise to the group for the previous post. I would appreciate it if a moderator would just delete that post. We all got into bed with Jayco, and it is what it is. We're all here to share information as a group. We're more powerful as a team. There are a lot of intelligent and talented members in here and I have nothing but respect for all of you. I'll finish out this thread with repairs that address this issue so others can use some, or all of the ideas for my fix.

The Panel repair at the floor:
I used a 1"x 2" piece of doug fir. Screwed it to the floor taking care to make sure it was flush with the edge of the plywood. Then I drilled pilot holes through the Fir and panel. I then removed the 1"x 2" and drilled out the panel to accept hollow door fasteners. I re-installed the Fir and screwed counter sinks into the fasteners to secure the panel. You could use toggle bolts if you want to get serious. I then caulked the heck out of it. I suggest you remove the bed platform and get it out of your work space.

I went ahead and beefed up the Bed platform while I was in there.

Final repairs:
Not real thrilled with the dark brown Caulk. Black or clear may have been a better choice? I hate caulking and it shows. I installed a 1" x 8" as follows. I used aluminum angle, cheap, easy to work with. I installed it and drilled pilot holes through the one by, into the 1/8" panel. Then removed it and installed the hollow door fasteners, re-installed it and screwed into the hollow fasteners through the 1" x 8" and into the panel.
screwed pocket screws into the bed deck, finished the screws in the aluminum angle, and caulked the heck out of it.

Per your request, that post has been removed. And yes, we have quite a bunch of very talented and knowledgeable members that are always willing to help. It's what we love to do here.

Sorry, not on here every day. Didn't do much, mostly covered it with the new wall/shelf. Couple screws and L brackets around the bottom.

The same thing happened to my 2020 285RSTS, I just hacked it together but this looks like a better repair job. Thanks, I will do this over the winter.

Another one finished. Should have this thing completely rebuilt pretty soon.
