Best route to myrtle beach

Looking for best route coming from New York using route 81 going to Myrtle beach. Want to pick up 95 south of Washington DC . I have used 81 to 64 and comes out just below Richmond . Just looking to see if anyone has a better route and what campgrounds to over night , we are towing 36 ft pinnacle

81 to 77
77 through to Columbia SC : there pick up 26 which will put you back on 95 just west of Charleston

I've lived near Myrtle Beach all my life... I would suggest I95 to US501.
Lots of good campgrounds in the area. The closest one to downtown Myrtle Beach is the KOA.

If you do this, you will need to take 95 north bound where 26 intersects back “up” to MB. if you are going to go to MB via Columbia better off to take I-20 towards Florence.

Try and catch 95 before SC border...

If I was trying to get to Myrtle Beach on I77, I would take 77 to I40 (at Statesville). Take I40 E to Winston-Salem, I74 to US74 to 501. GPS will tell you to take 77 to Charlotte to 74, but you have several small towns on 74 outside of Charlotte.

77 to Columbia, 20E to 95N to 501 will get you there too, buts sort of a dog leg route.

I get cold shivers from this question. We have been going to Myrtle for 10+ years from the Philadelphia area. Like mentioned, we have done 81 to 64 and then 95. From there we take 795 to 40 to 17 South. I have become completely frustrated with 95. I have made a commitment to my family that we will not touch 95 in 2018. I am going to take 81 to Roanoke and then diagonal down to Greensboro. Then I will take 74 to 701 into Myrtle area. We plan to overnight at the koa natural bridge/Lexington.

This past summer I parked next to a family from. Greensboro. They claimed 74 and 701 are Rv friendly and reasonable on traffic.

I agree with Bucko... I live in SC and avoid 95 as much as possible (all interstates for that matter). Problem with 95 is that GA and NC have 6 lane highways on either side of our state, then bottlenecking to 4 in SC. There is ALWAYS heavy traffic in SC on 95. 26 is just as bad...
