Did you get/order a 1up rack? I’m really leaning towards that. Spendy, but would be great both on the FW and back of the truck. Rated for all RV’s towable and otherwise and even off road. Didn’t see though if it was bolt in pin like my swagman which I like due to the zero play. Have to figure out something to accommodate a full suspension mntn bike.

Lol, have not as of yet but leaning heavily towards it as well. Last time I checked availability was not an issue as opposed to the Hollywood.

It does look like a stout setup. Kind of the B&W of bike racks. I like the made in the USA feature. Some complained of it’s industrial look, but I like that. Little to no plastic.

Just read the instructions and it sounds like it uses a wedge system of some sort to keep it tight in the hitch.

I can't find anything bad about it so far, and as you said, made in the USA. There may be some additional optional items needed depending on the bike type. We have the 4" fat tires and I think it makes a difference

Probably best to call them and confirm they have the bits to accommodate the Rad Rover.
They have a fat tire spacer kit and a fender cushion you might need for the rear tires, assuming it has fat tire spacing kit.

Don't forget the ramps.

Regards,

John

Especially on a long FW or TT, they take a beating.
I have Thule 4 bike swing arm XT - I use it with my RV and SUV. Works just fine. I have been using it for the last 3+ years.

RV or Towable. Towable seems to be where the issue is on strength of these things.

I attached it behind the RV and behind my SUV (When flat towed) and or behind my SUV when using it separately. Works just fine.

I wasn’t clear. Can’t see if you have a drivable RV(class C/A) or if you tow a travel trailer or FW. Can’t see signatures in this app.

E bike carrier

Very nice and expensive, but most I have seen so far that can handle the weight are all expensive. I welcome all suggestions you all might have, we are not in a big rush just yet, but would like to have it by spring if at all possible. Thanks

I bought the following from e Trailer last summer for about $500 for our two Rad bikes: Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount

Yes, expensive but as you point out all of those for e bikes are as well. It's a very beefy (and heavy) version of a similar carrier I had for regular bikes that I liked a lot.

Bike Covers & tie downs

Anyone have a suggestion for bungy tie downs? We have great bike covers for our Ebikes but Good Lord it takes us 30 minutes to get them covered then bungy down the covers to the bike rake. We even have a "net" type bungy and then use smaller bungies to tie down to rack. It sure makes it an "ordeal" every time we take bikes up and down. Of course my husband is MR Bungy and probably over does it which isn't helping!

We also have purchase 2 e-bike for x-mas, but with fat tire. I really like the Thule with the ramp, but not design for fat tires it looks like. So we purchase the Futura, it mention ok for rv and for fat tire e-bike. They are rates for 2 60 pounds bike each, but our bikes will never do the trip with the battery on, so the weigh should not be an issue has they are at 65 pounds with the battery. Battery are around 11 pounds each.
(Futura GP RV Approved Hitch Mounted E Bike Rack Carrier for RV- Fits Up to 2 x 60lbs Mountain Bike E Bikes with Up to 5-inch Fat Tires) and purchased it from Amazon.ca (Canada). Just received it yesterday, easy to mount and is aluminum made, so not to heavy. Do not know how good it is has I did not tried it yet. Will see on our first trip in Late April 2022.

Has anyone used an extension hitch on the back of a motor home that has a receiver for both the toe car and a bike rack?

Thanks, will research it tomorrow. Had forgotten the bike's weights without the batteries. If they are in the 10- pound range, that brings them down to near 60 pounds each.

Extension hitch gadgets I have looked at had a very low total capacity.

I place an order for the Swagman E-SPEC It's both E-Bike and Trailer Approved. In my searching I found many that were Class C approved, but now trailer approved. So make sure what you order will work for your setup. Also the Swagman E-SPEC has been sold out now for about 6 months.

Bicycle carrier?

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 1up Super Duty 2 bike carrier. Trailer approved for two bikes. It’s three of us, but usually just two bikes, or my son’s 24” could go on the bed inside. This one could handle the lighter e-bikes should we ever go that way. Thanks to the OP for starting this topic. I’ll be sending you a bill. Hopefully I fly a few extra hours this week.
