Bigger wheels for 28.5 Eagle HT rsts,

Advice please on going from 15 inch rims to 16. Trying to resolve trailering high in front and being able to get quality tires.

I am not sure your year, but recent models (2017+) would have been an option, at purchase. Mine (26.5) still isn't level on the F350, but I a sure it is better. I will tell you the tires run close enough together, that my X chocks barely fit.

What size tires did you put on the 16 inch rims?

Mine came with 15's and I put Goodyear Endurance in 235/80/16 as they are a little shorter and wider than the 235/85's. You can look up the exact specs. I didn't want to deal with tire clearance issues as it was a pretty big jump over the stock 15's. No clearance problems whatsover. Just make sure your springs are mounted on the lowest holes.

For comparison, here are the same 16's against the 15's on our previous FR Wildcat. The Goodyears and rims were new when I traded it for the Jayco, so they took them off the Wildcat and put them on the Jayco. From memory I gained about an inch and a half in height. Not nearly enough for it to sit level with my Ram, but the tires have a way more load rating than the originals, so I'm not too worried.

I did the same mod with the 80 verse 85. My X chocks still fit barely. With the 85s they wont work any more, not enough clearance.

Google: tire size calculator and play with it.
As an example just remember that if it shows the tire combo you want is 3" taller, that's 1 1/2" in both directions.
I went from a 15 to a 16" rim and found a tire(LT) that I only gave up 1/2" on clearance, while gaining in speed rating and increased weight carrying capacity, win-win. 16's are way easier to find if you do run into trouble.
