Binding Slide

Hi I have a 2018 Jayco 27.5RLTS fifth wheel and recently I have been having problems with the kitchen slide not operating properly. When I try to retract the slide it does not come in evenly on each side causing it to bind and then stop

Any suggestions on what may be causing this and how I can fix it
Thank you

What type of slide mechanism is it? Schwintec or Slim Rack?

If it's schwintek, which it probably is- There are plenty of threads here to help, but they are very difficult to search for.

Step one- Make sure you hold the switch in for 5 seconds EVERY TIME you put the slide all the way in or out.

Step 2- With the slide all the way in, Hit the switch until the slide moves a small amount- 2 or three inches or so. Then reverse it and take it back in, holding for 5 seconds at the end. Then repeat this process 5 times or so- out a few inches, then back in and hold button down for 5 seconds. (You can also try this with the slide all the way out)

Also, Check that the screws in the outside slide frame are tight and not broken. There is a thread about that going on right now.

Also to add to Cincinnati kids process
Check your controller for the slide. If it's bound and stopped it will be flashing an error code on the leds
Write down the sequence. The decode is on the controller label
(Controller is normally in the basement above your head drivers side.)
Green red red...... Green red red....

Then push the reset button 6 times and hold on the seventh until the led lights flash.
This resets the controller and over amps the motors so you can resync the slide using Cincinnati kids procedure
LCI has free online courses on these slides on troubleshooting Well worth your time since there is no manual override to crank slide in or out knowing how to do this is kinda needed.

Ours is similar to yours, and it’s located in the pass through storage compartment behind a wall panel.

Schwintek..

My BR slide is schwintek and we were having pretty much the same issues, I did all of the out a few inches, back in etc. Called LCI and the phone support and I (me doing the hands on) determined either a back cable or bad motor. Took it to my dealer and the result is: no issue found and here is why..... The tech showed and told me the way to operate the slide without issues. If the slide is in and you want to put it out, Press and hold the switch for IN- just a few seconds, release and then push and hold (NEVER STOP PART WAY OUT) until llthe slide is all of the way out REMEMBER to continue to hold for 3 to 5 second after the slide fully extends or retracts... I have been doing his method and so far zero issues and none of the alignment and syncing problems I was having.

Just changed the motor on my kitchen slide. Warranty luckily, but 2 of my items were binding a little. Got some silicone lube spray and it helped a lot.
