Black tank flush question

Hi again, so on my 2015 jayco eagle there is a black tank flush connection. My question is do I need to use a pressure regulator on that line. I currently use one but it just doesn't seem like much water / pressure is going into the tank to get the job done.

Quick answer is no. The flush line is basically open at the tank end and does not build much pressure at all.

At the other end of the black tank flush inlet is a sprayer and from there the water is going out of the open black tank dump line. I think there would have to be some monstrous pressure in the waterline to cause any problem in the black tank flush line between the inlet and the sprayer.

You actually want the high pressure water to flush the tank as thoroughly as possible.

I blew out the cheap plastic backflow preventer flushing the black water tank. It ran water all over everything around the wall where it was hidden. Ever since then we have used the pressure reducer and watch the clear pipe. Takes longer, but no more water inside

Those should be removed and an inline brass one installed at the backside of the hose connection. The one you speak of will fail no matter what you do. It's just a ticking time bomb and very poorly made and just a bad design. I had one fail and I converted it and every unit I bought since.

Yep, industry standard for 5th wheels for a number of years, unsure of travel trailers.

Any RV place or online. Amazon probably has them. I always got them at a local RV place for a few bucks. Thread it on the the back of the hose connection and adapt it to push connect pex. Remove the loop and run straight to the tank. Or install directly in place of the cheap will fail valve.

No! Key point is make sure your valve is open. I flush my often. I have it down to a science. I dump my black tank(s) then close the valve and fill each tank with water for 3 minutes. Then I open the drain valve and force flush the tanks. I do this 3-4 times.
