The issue is toilet paper gets hung up on the sensors, and gives a false reading. The paper is wet, which completes the electrical circuit. There are replacement sensors that are less prone to this issue. Most people just look down the hole when flushing.

I would check the probe connections first...look for the rats nest of colored wires on your tank and make sure all the crimp and spade connections are secure. Next I would fill the black tank and let soak at least several hours to thoroughly soften any dried paper....drain the tank and use a spray wand to bombard your probes.
Rinse and repeat as needed

Most likely clogged w/ paper. We hardly look at the levels cause the black is not worth the worry.

I have had to fill, soak drain and flush at least two cycles to get everything to work. Sometimes a different brand of black tank additive can make a difference. I prefer the ones that use an enzyme over the ones that merely mask the smell.

They never work right after the first week of use... just use the look down the hole when flushing method (if you can)

They are worthless. We installed a "No-Muss Flush" and I must say I love this device. I had the dealer install it and it is set up to spray directly on the sensors in the black water tank. This is the way to go.

Another option is installing Horst Miracle Probes. They fit in the same holes that the OEM probes use, and use the same wires. I have bought a set for black tank and both gray tanks, but have not installed them yet. Have heard that they really do work.
