I do the same as others have stated, I always use a “Y”, mark one side “Black”, I always shut off the fresh water side before I open th black side. Just be conscious of what your doing. Besides we don’t drink out of our fresh water, my wife’s a water snob!
I also replaced my original white colored black tank hose connector (no black flow preventer) with a black colored hose connector with a back flow preventer. I use a wye connector at the spigot and connect both hoses.
