Bugs

I don't know if bugs come from the sewer or the black tank when there is a pyramid, but I think they come from the sewer. We got bugs once and they drove us crazy until we finally realized where they were coming from. Wags999 has it exactly right. Follow his advice!
I am now an obsessive over cleaning out the black water tank and only opening the valves when dumping!
Have a nice day, Al

I'm reading this and thinking, what a great idea!
Then I'm wondering, why haven't I heard this before?
All those years of smells that could have been controlled.....

Ok, so when you get to your site and start using black water tank does the pine sol counter act the effects of the additives you use for the black tank?? Or do you just dump and start over.

Black tank valve

But ALWAYS keep your black tank closed and use plenty of water. When leaving a campground, after dumping your tanks, put 4 or 5 gallons of water in the black tank, as you drive it will help wash the tank.

Good Luck.....last thing you want is a poo pyramid building in your tank because all the liquid ran down the drain without enough liquid to wash the solids with it. Having worked in campgrounds for a number of years, i've seen it often....it ain't pretty to deal with !
Toss in a bag of ice with a little water and let the ice do some scrubbing until it melts.

Ive never had the "ice cube trick" work...ice melts much too fast to do any real good. Just having 4 or 5 gallons of water in the tank when driving usually takes care of the problem. Just do it more often than not, don't allow the "waste" to accumulate before you "clean" the tank and you should have no issue. Just added some to the black and grey tank in preparation for our upcoming trip...along with 15 20 gallons of fresh water "Just in case".

Roger that Norty. IMO. His poop was pretty heavy duty. I didn’t see anything that resembled Rivers Ave. between Cosgrove and Montague. That would bounce some stuff loose.
