Blinds and valance questions

My blind is locked up and i need to acess the spring.Anyone had experience removing valance? I dont want to break it during the removal. Help!

If you look up underneath the valance, in back of the shade, there are usually two or three brackets that the valance is screwed too with #2 square head screws. Remove those screws and you will be able to remove the valance with the shade attached. I had to buy a six inch long square head bit to make it easier to reach.

I used two magnetic extensions to hold the #2 square drive bit. This gave me a bit more room to work and the magnet held the screw for both removal and replacement.

After you take the valance off once, you'll learn how to reach up and unlock the blind roller in place. It's all in the wrist. Someone in our family has locked them up several times pulling down too far. Prolly a cat.

I'd like to replace the accordion type blinds in my Eagle with the roll up type. Anyone know where one could buy them?
