BMPro Tablet Boot Loop/Warranty Claim Issue

2022 Jayco North Point 377RLBH

Has anyone had an issue with BMPro tablet getting stuck in a boot loop? When removed from the power supply, the tablet battery drops to 0%. While connected to the power supply, the unit cycles through the boot loop but does not connect.

I had a mobile tech diagnose the node, and he came up with the following... "Found 11.5vdc to node, called Jayco and spoke to Leah 02/14/23 @11:00am to diagnose node and perform voltage check on node a solder points. Found -13vdc at 3 points around the micro USB port on board. Found -2.3 VDC at the 4th point on the node. Came to the conclusion that the node board has internal short and has damaged tablet internal."

Jayco denies the warranty claim. Here is the response from Leah N. at Jayco.

"Hello, I was discussing with BMPRO your request. They cannot approve the tablet because it was taken out of the casing, I had them review what your tech diagnosed from the node and they say these numbers look correct, so they do not agree that the node was the issue in the tablet."

If you have had a similar experience, how did you resolve the issue? I have been dealing with this since December 2022!!

You messed up because you were honest! You will find lots of links on the tablet here. First, regardless of what you read, if left unpowered for too long it will kill the battery, which is your problem. You may be able to bring it up by removing it from the camper and connecting it to a decent charger in the house. Lots of links here to that as well. An Ipad or similar charger works well. Unfortunately, this will delay the inevitable which is a bad battery not recharging. Ours is finally doing this on this trip we are on, and we depend on the APP on the phone. We are waiting on a replacement tablet under warranty, just barely. There are other links here on replacing it/or replacing the battery. I think that is a better option if out of warranty, although it requires some soldering skills. I would NOT buy a very expensive replacement from them for a $40 tablet.

I had the same issue last year and bought a $12 replacement battery from Amazon which fixed the problem, at least for now. This was with a new tablet that was replaced under warranty for the same issue. Keeping the batteries going is an issue that I'm not sure has a good answer.

Had same issue. Battery bloated. Sent pics to Jayco after I pulled it out per their request (for pics). They told me since I took it apart it would not be covered. Month later went to a dealership for warranty work, kept my big honest mouth shut and got it replaced under warranty. Good luck.

Do you happen to remember(or can look up) which battery you got and save us poor souls years (OK, minutes) of searching?

I'm sorry I don't know how to do a link to the Amazon item but here is the description: 3.7 V 2500mAH Lipo Battery Rechargeable Lithium Polymer ion Battery Pack with JST connector. It shows in stock on Amazon for $11.80. It is smaller than the battery that's in the BMPro tablet but it works the same. I got the information for the replacement battery on a previous thread somewhere here.

I cut the JST connector off the battery and soldered the wires. If I do it over again I will add a JST connection to the tablet side so I won't have to do any more soldering. I got some connectors on Amazon also.

And I know you mentioned this in another thread, but could you repeat how you cracked the case open? I had a scary issue with power and camper yesterday, will post on a new thread. new tablet is taking it's time getting here.

Glad you found the battery. I didn't realize I had left off the number.

I struggled with opening the case for a few days but finally just used a flat screwdriver in the seam around the edge. It popped open with enough force.

Do you get to keep the old tablet? I had to return mine.

Thanks, Haven't received the new one yet, so unsure as if I will have to return it. Don't want to tear into it if they might want it back.

They make tool kits for opening phones and tablets. I think you could use Harbor Fright auto panel removal tools, too. But if you're on 'zon for the battery, you might as well get the kit if that is how you want to go. Just do a search for "tablet tool kit" - you'll more than you can imagine...

Here is just one:

We had the same problem. I called BMPro and told them what was happening. They asked a couple of questions and told me they were sending me a new unit. I only had to send the old one back.

You are lucky, typically they tell you to contact your dealer

Hey jetlag:

Was this particular battery and cable set the "one" to resolve your tablet issue? Jayco just gave me the same runaround with my tablet on on 22 Jayco Pinnacle 32rlts. So thinking of taking the tablet to a "We fix cellphones" store to have them replace the battery. TIA for taking the time to respond.

No, go to your dealer and make them replace it under warranty! I just went out of warranty but discussed it with dealer before then and a new one should be shipping any day. They called me Monday and said they were shipping it. Jayco won't talk to you, it needs to be the dealer. I have not tried the battery fix thing on it until I know for a fact they don't want the old one back. They could also deny warranty if tablet altered. Numerous folks have mentioned here they were asked to return the old one

BMPRO Screen Issue

Screen dark and not responsive. Did a reset and the screen started to slowly flash BMPRO and over the next 3 days it continued to flash but would not respond to touch.
From all the information I found it appears to be a bad battery.
I contacted the dealer and Jayco area manager. They both said there is nothing they could do and that i should purchase a new tablet from the dealer for $450. This happen as we arrived to the RV resort where we stayed for a week. Several days later I met an owner of a 2021 North Point. He said he has had the same issue twice. The 1st time Jayco changed it out under warranty but not the second time and he was very upset with Jayco. He then tells me the Jayco Eagle across from him had the same issue and Jayco would not replace it under warranty. He went on to say that this is a known issue and Jayco won't do anything if you are over the 2 year warranty. I then called BMPRO and they would not do anything and said I should contact Jayco.
I am very dissatisfied with the position the dealer, Jayco and BMPRO have taken.
