Bottle jack recommendation

I bought an 8 ton HF jack over a year ago. I have used it with no problems so far.
I know everyone says not to jack on the axle but I made a cradle that fits snug around the axle and slips over the jack and have jacked on my axles several times using this. In the one pic the tire is up enough to remove it if I wanted. I'm sure this will cause some controversy.

I've also read where you aren't suppose to jack on the frame if the trailer is setting on the landing gear, only when hooked to the truck with gear up.

I doubt if that will do any harm being so close to the mount point. Perhaps in the middle would cause damage.

Looks real good..... I don't think you can hurt the axle jacking it up right next to the springs. All you are doing is compressing the spring just a little. Imagine what a beating that spot takes just going down the road.

I think the cradle distributes the load better than just using the Jack. Its also keeps the axle from slipping off the jack. Don't have to lift It very high to change a tire.

I crafted a similar bracket for the 2 ton aluminum floor jack that I carry instead of a bottle jack. My bracket fits between the spring perch u-bolts, and a using a floor jack minimized the need to crawl around on the ground to position the jack. (handle on the jack detaches, and jack fits in a compact, canvas carry bag)

I just use my wooden blocks and drive one tire over them and it lifts the other off the ground. Real fast and simple since I carry many blocks for leveling. My truck has a great Jack and I usually carry an aluminium 2 ton floor jack for the rzr tires but the blocks are fast and easy.
