Brake adjustment

My new 2017 5th wheel is equipped with automatic adjusting brakes. The brakes do work but do not pull as hard as I would like. I pulled the emergency cord and they did hold better but could still move the trailer with just slight throttle. I believe that they need adjustment. Does anyone have a link that shows the process to adjust these brakes?

They adjust the same way as manual adjusting brakes. Just Google search electric trailer brake adjustment. I just adjusted mine they were way off. Guessing Lippert or Jayco didn't do the initial brake adjustment. Auto adjusters won't work unless they are adjusted first.

How did u get to the star wheel to turn it. Mine has the self adjusting bar over the star wheel and they show u have to use a small angled tool to lift the bar away and hold it off the wheel while u use brake spoon to adjust. Since I am full timing until house is finished i have limited tools. I have tried everything I have and even tried forcing the bar up with brake spoon and cannot get any of the wheel stars to turn. The axle keeps me from being able to use the other access hole with out an angled or bent tool. I might pull a drum to see if they installed something wrong when my brakes were replaced under warranty.
I have adjusted brakes from old cars to boats and rv's but cannot get to these . Ahaaaaa.

I used a flat blade screw driver to turn it. I rotate the wheel while I turn it until it has a noticeable drag. I don't tighten it up and back it off. You don't need to lift the arm off the adjuster to tighten. It should click as you turn the star wheel.
