Earl, I went back to the mechanics bay to look at the old backing plates to see how these "forward self adjusting" brakes work.
He was full of attitude.
Said "there's nothing wrong with those brakes on the trailer".
He wrote on the service report that the seals were compromised by owner overheating the brakes.

The dummy doesn't even know the whole story.
Here's a news flash dummy...the brakes suck, the seals suck, Lippert sucks. End of story.

Lol. That was a year old!

The brake story is so old to me now, now that the slide and furnace trouble happened.
As a matter of fact I just got my trailer back today for the third furnace fix attempt.
The second attempt cost me $500. Then I bought it back immediately and asked if they could do what I told them to do the first time I brought it in to fix the furnace.
If they would have listened then the warranty would have covered the fix the first time and extended warranty would have covered the second attempt. It’s frustrating.

Lol yeah. I don't normally revisit threads, especially long ones. I was doing a search on brakes and seen you mentioned me. Lol my Eagle has crap for brakes and no grease. So pondering replacing the 6k Lippert brakes for 7k Dexter brakes. Or just going all out on disc brakes.

Sorry to hear about your other troubles! Is your brakes still performing ok?

They are better..but it takes about 15-20 minutes before I can turn them down from 10 to 7.5.
Sometimes it’s grabby at 7.5.
Before, from the day I drove the rig off the lot max controller would just slow it

Cool. My trailer is lighter and I have my controller maxed out and on high boost. At road speed like nothing there. Traffic perfect.

Warmer drum brakes are more aggressive. So cold drum brakes are weaker.
