Bugs/Spiders/Crud

I have been full timing for the past 11 months in my Designer and it has been and continues to be trouble free. I am amazed really. One thing I do religiously the first of every month (I have my smart phone programmed to remind me) is to switch the refrigerator to propane, the water heater to propane, and to run the generator under load for 1 hour. I leave the propane appliances on propane for 24 hours and make sure I either wash laundry or shower a time or two to exercise the water heater. I want everything to work on propane when needed and the generator to not gum up. It is a gasoline model and I do have stabilizer in the fuel as well.

Yesterday, I know it wasn't the first of the month but my grandchildren were visiting, everything worked fine except the water heater would not light. It was so hot yesterday outside I deferred working on it until this morning. I took an air hose and blew out the burner area and venturi as well as the propane jet. Guess what? It works fine now.
All is well again.

I put screens on all my vents and it does help keep those critters out.

I have screens on also, but something got in the heater anyway. All is working fine now. I have done two loads of laundry since this morning and the heater is back to normal.

When I set up my trailer, a few weeks ago, I used "Home Defence" bug spray. I sprayed the bottom of the trailer, and any parts contacting the ground, as well as the table legs, screen room, bottom of the BBQ, swing, etc., anywhere that bugs can crawl on to.

I know I can't stop them all, as we are in their territory, but this really helps to keep them to a minimum.

You might want to invest in a Camco Gas Burner Tube Cleaner (#09103) to remove spider webs/nests and crud from your burner tubes. I bought one a long time ago for my gas grill and now keep it in my TT in case any such problems crop up.

I also periodically put a few moth balls in the outdoor compartment of my HWH.
