Buzzing from plumbing when using shore water

I have noticed that when I'm using the water hose hooked to shore water there is a buzzing from the water when opening a tap. it is quiet when using the pump.
Is there a filter or something in there that could be plugged?
Going to de-winterize this weekend... I think I'm safe now. I do have a leaky low point drain to change but I think that is it for now, put the battery back in last weekend and plugged it in to charge the battery up. It's nice to get back into it again.

It sounds like maybe the water pressure is too high coupled with a loose pipe. If the pressure is too high you can have more severe issues than a buzzing pipe. I suspect a good pressure regulator may fix the issue.

1st thing I would do is put a pressure guage on the hose spigot and see what the static pressure is as well as the pressure when you open a faucet.

2nd thing I would do is try to find where the buzzing or vibration is coming from. Turn on the water and try to isolate the pipe in question. If it is loose secure it so it will not vibrate anymore.

I hear a "buzz" when using compressed air to winterize the fresh water. I suspect mine is from the check valve on the city water inlet.
Macro also has a good suggestion. Do you have a pressure regulator on the tap?

^^^ I like the check valve suggestion. It's probably fluttering. I've never had one apart but usually ball checks don't flutter like the disc types can.

I haven't taken a close look, but it seems to be right from where the hose hooks up.
when I de-winterize I will take a closer look... or listen.

I vote Check valve. Seen it many times. Do you use a pressure regulator on the hose?

We use a pressure regulator and I have also had the "humming" or "buzzing" on occasion but not always. As someone said, it might be tied in with the pressure in the campground.

So where is this check valve? I looked the other day and can't see where it is unless it's in the pump.
It buzzes every time I hook up the water hose, at home or at any campground.
I was going to de-winterize this weekend and change the leaking low point drain but now I get to go to Saskatchewan for the weekend and do a cylinder head gasket on my brother-in-law's Sunfire. Nothing like driving 1000km to work and not make a dime.

The City Water check valve is often at the City Water connection point (but somewhere between the City Water connection and water pump) - the flutter usually comes from a low water pressure. It's primary purpose is to seal the system (keep water from blowing out the City Water connection point) when using the fresh water pump.

There is usually another check valve at the hot water heater inlet. It's purpose is to keep hot water from leaching backward into the water system.

Our check valve buzzes. The water inlet is on the outside bedroom wall and it's most annoying when someone has to go potty in the middle of the night. During the day, it's a non-issue.
