This is what I think the issue is. When u grease the wet bolt it pushes grease around bolt and bushing. But grease cannot go between the bushing and spring eye hole. I believe the bushings are wearing from the outside. The bolt serrations are according to LCI go thru hanger and push into the bushing. I think from all our smooth roads those serrations in the bushing wear and the bushing starts turning causing wear.

This is the bolt and bushing from forward end of right rear leaf spring. U can see and feel this one wore from the outside in and bolt shines from rubbing on leaf eye. Now to do the right front spring.

Every bushing looks the same or worse. I had to cut six of them out. So why can owners of like 3500 commercial trucks tow heavy loads with gooseneck at max capacity or more for 200,000 miles and there leaf springs are fine? I am thinking just leaf springs and class 8 bolts and ur good to go for 100-200k miles. Or just make the wet bolt a tad bigger and no bronze bushing so grease would be between bolt and leaf spring hole. My
Last big boat I had an overwide towing permit and it was tri axle but torsion suspension like Morryde upgrade. That should be a factory option like disc brakes. But if u have a diesel and like me non self adjusting drum brakes u do not need discs.

The wet bolt bronze bushings could have been designed better if they would have cut a spiral groove in the ID for grease to coat the entire bushing and bolt. I drilled an extra hole in my wet bolt before installation opposite of the factory hole for grease to come out two sides instead of one. Not sure it helps.
