Changing the Single Door Fridge to a Double door
Has anyone done this? DW would LOVE to have more fridge and freezer space. I understand that I will be loosing the pantry to the left of the fridge. I'll have to tackle that issue as well. Just looking to see how hard it is to swap these out.

You do mean getting a NEW refrigerator right?

What size is your current 1 door? Think the sizes for a 2 door range from 6-8 cu. ft.

I currently have the Norcold N-811FL 7.5 cubic foot. Either looking to put in a N-1095 9.5 Cubic foot or the 1210 which is 12 cubic foot side by side. If I do the 12 I have to loose the pantry and the DW will not be happy. The 9.5 is the EXACT same dimensions as the one that is in there now. makes no sense to me, but that's what they say.

Not sure the $'s are worth the upgrade to the 9.5, your decision of course, but I know we would not be without our 12' 4 door.

Pantry storage is not a problem for us though and a big reason we chose our model.

Just a thought. Would you be able to find a residential refrigerator to fit in the space? If you aren't boon docking you probably could get away with it without putting in an inverter and a bunch of additional batteries. It would also be a plus if you have a generator.

I have the 1210 with ice maker I bought for my boat. If my plans change on 4/1/14 and your interested I will probally sell it. Also appears to be the same wood tone you have.

Sorry...but an ice maker just takes up space in the freezer and is one of the most useless options for an RV refer.

I agree with the fact that an ice maker in an rv is useless. Had one in our motorhome and never turned it on. So glad the fridge in the new Pinnacle doesn't have an ice maker.

Be mindful that the dimensions for a replacement larger fridge have the same depth dimension and that the space you have behind is sufficient for a deeper chest.

Have you thought of a freezer in the basement compartment? Lot simpler and cheaper if your looking for capacity.

I see your not storing wine bottles in the wine rack. Take that rack out, use it to start a campfire and use it for something useful. Took mine out and used it as kindling that night. I out coffee, filters and creamer/sweetener in one side and some spices on the other. Worked out great with the coffee maker underneath it on that counter space!

Actually we do use the wine rack for what is intended but the pic I put up was taken the week we were taking delivery in San Diego and what ever wine we had never made the rack.

Perfect!! It just wasn't for me and I wasn't saving it for the next owner.
